Thread regarding ATCO layoffs

ATCO layoffs June 2018

Anybody know exactly how many people were laid off by ATCO last week?

A number of people were laid off at Calgary-based ATCO last week, Calgary’s Business has learned.

When asked about the layoffs, the company would not confirm how many people were affected but gave the following statement on the “reductions.”

ATCO is very poorly managed and lacking any clear direction from the executive.

I left government to work for ATCO 4 years ago ......... such a great place to work for until the Mr. Southern passed away then it all changed terrible work environment and moral was in the toilet. I'm off to brighter and bigger things and I would not encourage any of my friends to work there. Health and Safety which used to be a big part of that organization has really went downhill in the last year!

Atco electric not been “laying off”, they are downsizing again, permant reductions due to greed. 40 out of scope people that literally got minutes notice of reduction and upwards of 150 unionized staff will be reduced on Friday

Sorry to hear that. Not surprised, though. Left in 2016, they weren’t transparent then either.
