Thread regarding Micron Technology Inc. layoffs

Got shipped off to Crucial and although I was not happy to go at least I am away from the backstabbers that are still left in my old area. What a relief.

H1B Visa workers are not more qualified. Micron hires them to come here and train so they can ship them back overseas and run our plants. They typically bring them over for two years and then ship them back with a promotion. I work and worked with many Singapore visa holders here in Boise.

Micron is not an American company any longer.

Move, there are lots of good tech jobs out of state that needs operators, techs, and engineers.

Is there any news on the Assembly department? Were managers given leave dates of 2019?

Yeah, its great until you get laid off. And if you were laid off and try and get back on, they will not hire you- even if your the most qualified for the position. Micron lays off skilled employees, then complains to the government that they can't get the qualified workers they need. So they request more H1B Visa workers. Micron is despised by most of Boise because so many have been laid off over the years. They might pay well and have good benefits, but they treat their employees like #7#%.

I thought you meant that Micron is backstabbing. So many recent layoffs, but then they bring half the population of the Philippines over to Boise to backfill the fired Americans. Seems legit.

There are really good coworkers at micron, but there are a lot more that would sell you out in order to get ahead than any other place I have worked for from my experience. I have seen a lot of good people go never to look back.

I disagree. While Micron can be an awful place to work, the majority of coworkers are some of the best I've ever known or worked with.
