This is all lie. Almost two weeks after this post, and our very very best men are leaving right now and not a single a$$hole manager puts any tiny bit of an effort to keep them in!!!

@6iey: ---> This is spot on! It is mind boggling how little the so called leaders know, except for their deep connections which gets them going. GRC buddy system seems to be only growing under VA, and the frequent re-orgs are only causing more confusion, where people are asked to lead folks who have unrelated skills. Every new leader wants to bring in their flair and background, causing the actual doers to take extra unnecessary steps to both satisfy the bosses' ego, as well as do things the way that matters.

I am leaving GRC very soon, so for the firs time I can vent here. There are too many people who do nothing of real value but spend all their time in meetings collecting feedbacks from subordinates, who do the actual work, and then presenting their flashy powerpoints to the senior leadership as their own and eventually getting promoted. Granted, some of these middle-men lubricant-type of jobs are really needed, but IMHO there are way too many of them at GRC. Most of these types are only adding unnecessary distraction to the people who do the actual work - they are the good-for-nothing middlemen/women, frantically trying to make themselves look important and invaluable, and the number of them seems to be only growing after VA came to power. A good way to spot one is that her official position title is '... something leader' - just before JI left, they all used to be 'digital something leaders' but right now digital is getting frumpy, so they instantly realigned themselves.

My guess is Vic is pissing everyone off at GRC except his favorite new pets. He have never been one help many people out on his way up through the leadership chain, typical GE leadership take, take. Although, he is the first one to count his golden chits he received as he gets promoted. Funny how that works. I feel for the GRC PhD's ..cause he has no respect for anyone except a nice set of ___s. Best of luck folks on him hitting the road soon. He has nowhere to land so he will stay right where he is at ...

Agree with @4gcy. What concerns researchers further is the large number of EBs in PMSci. What I have seen happening in the last 4 years is that PMSci is seen as more valuable than the technical talent pipeline that has been contributing to GE over 30+ years. Its not surprising that talent is moving out.

Ok, so GRC is still too expensive, with a now oversized physical plant and high proportion of EB+. But I'm with @3azg: Vic needs to go first. He was never right for GRC, and he's slowly killing it. Researchers hate the arrogant and inhumane culture he's created.

There's still incredible talent at GRC, but more of that talent is leaving every week. Maybe Flannery is so focused on cutting corporate costs that he doesn't care if GRC dies. But Flannery is helping to kill GRC by leaving Vic in place. And that's just sad.

Ya! Clean up the Chiefs and "Indians" in the SEB, EB and protected roles ( TRLS, Senior Principals, LMs, ...); can save a couple or more millions and better talent will flow in .

The leadership of GE is mentally ill. I believe it's schizophrenia. Decimate GRC worldwide. Then offer retention bonus to the remainders? Vic Abbate is a cancer and should be excised.

@3fzb - maybe you should go back to high school and understand the difference between "your" and "you're" before talking about talents of others

You should leave to a better paying job if your so talented and have the skills to do so. Stop blaming everyone but yourself.

Never heard about the raises. But I know for a fact that at least one org is trying hard to hire people for multiple positions. They've lost a number of good people: first the layoffs, then all the best and most capable young guys left and those good old men who could, retired. Now they have a sht-load of work and funding, but no people to execute.

Not everyone seems to be getting these raises. Wonder how they choose! Guess is you have to be a part of the group.

But who would be stupid enough to come back to a company to get laid off again? At the lower pay scale that GE offers, there are plenty of jobs who pay better and have better benefits! GE is a scam! The Local 301 Leadership in the hall are a bunch of crooks that take your dues. They are to chicken to fight for the membership!
