Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

I think most Sales reps will be replaced with cheaper fulltime order writers

I Think most Sales reps will be replaced with cheaper fulltime order writers and DSD will be around for a while

Full time order writers can do about the same level of work as a sales rep for about probably 1/2 - 1/3 of the cost

Full time order writers get no car, no gas, no retirement, no salary, (they can flex up or down with them as needed)

The only thing they get is health care and mileage reanbusment

I Think that's what you will see with most of the stores going CAO, and the ones that dont already get planned out displays and NOSed in sale items, be sides some up selling (which can be done at a higher level with mandatory/paid for displays) what is left for them to do out there. I dont think they will get rid of all of them but I could see a sales rep become more of an area manger with 2-6 fulltime order writers/pack out people under them

Tates is both warehouse and dad in some chains it come from there warehouse with only a couple of skus on the shelf and in other chains it comes in from a broker most likely on a truck with a full line of skus and the and the guy who brings it to the store packs it out

Tate’s is a warehouse item, not dsd! It will never be dsd, they want to keep it completely separate to keep its appeal! They don’t want to cheapen it with marketing it as Nabisco!

It’s all or nothing in dsd, if WM and Kroger leave dsd, they all do. Smaller accounts will pull from third party warehouses, like they already do with warehouse.

Wrap your head around the fact, dsd will soon cease to exist, regardless what your boss says!

DSD in N.A. is no longer profitable. Look at the trending numbers the last few years. All the wall street analysts want to know why we are still in dsd. A lot of those sku's are nothing more than fillers. So if we are going to continue it would all have to be outsourced. Cheap, unreliable drivers. Way too much downward pressure on costs from retailers. Look, mondelez is a corporation just like any other. There is no soul or heart involved, just maximizing profits. And unfortunately, we will be more profitable once we exit dsd.

I know Walmart is everywhere, and Kroger is big but it's not like there in every state so big deal if there NEW warehouse could handle all of skus. Can everyone elses can if your right and it's not up to mondelez what do they do when only one or two go that way.

Also DSD can still drive business around me Tates is a big deal its delivered kind of like our stuff and they bring in ton some of my stores have full 4-5ft sections of that stuff only because they are DSD

It’s not up to Mondelēz, your missing the point! Plenty of space for all our sku’s in the new distribution warehouses! Funny how they are so close to our regional distribution center. Coincidence? Haha, think not! Kroger will have no problem discontinuing our sku’s if necessary.

I agree there are to many skus for warehouse all at once. Keebler had to discontinue so much and they had space/skus from other categories they could use. As for us we currently have nothing in any ones grocery where house where is all this space going to come from if kelloggs had to discontinue items just to get there stuff in and they already had space/deals with where houses from there other part of the company

We have to many SKU's to go warehouse. Store warehouses charge a slotting fee for every SKU. Nabisco refused to pay it I've heard. They won't eliminate any SKU's.

No layoffs!

DSD is here too stay!!

Everyone will be replaced. We're set-up just like Keebler. Stop believing what upper management is telling you. DSD is ending soon. Get out before your kicked to the curb. Start looking. Find what you want and don't settle.

What some people are missing is Mondelez will continue to operate once dsd is over. What do you think, your boss will say we aren’t going to have any fall programming? It will be business as usual until it’s over. Does Keebler still have programmed sales? Rollbacks, super Saturday sales? If course they do and their prices have heated up since they exited dsd. Keebler had planned to exit dsd for over two years, lots to do behind the scenes. Mondelez is no different. Although the announcement won’t be made until after the strategic review, don’t fool yourself, the wheels are already in motion and have been for a very long time! A change of this mangnatude would not be executed overnight!

Hummm, remember back 12 months ago, WM went CAO and Kroger followed shortly after? Well, fast forward a year, WM just went CAO and Kroger soon to follow. We’re not Keebler, just seems like it! I’m not an ex Keebler rep, just a Mondelez rep that lives in reality!! Ought to try it out! Things make better sense!

Surely no one believes Kroger is gonna watch walmart go cao and them not go cao themselves the way Kroger watches OOS. Kroger will follow very soon

Yeah, Kroger just built a 60M distribution plant, and now they changed their minds? So what if you got a fall programming schedule, Mondelez isn’t going away moron, just reps! These are programs that the CBT’s can and will implement! What do you think they are gonna do, so no more programs? Haha!! Wake up people!

Your DM is a liar. Store management and employees have told me CAO at Kroger by the end of July. Cincy is already on CAO at Kroger. It's happening

Ive been told Kroger was not going CAO from my DM. Only walmart was doing that as Kroger did not want to go that direction.

Just assume your losing your job, easier to find a job when you have one, otherwise you tend to settle for something you don’t want as you get desperate. It’s not going to be a layoff, it’s going to be termination as we aren’t going back.

I just wish we would be told something. Everyone has bills to pay. In my area I can't find a job making the same as I am now. I don't want to quit too soon, but don't want to be layed off either.

Nope! Not buying it! Nabisco eliminated 1/3 of the sales force 3 year's ago and are still losing money! DSD is ending! Game over.
