There seems to be a lot of anxiety about the newest addition of bi-yearly layoffs. I think it is as simple as this; If this August is your departure date, you are gone and probably need to be looking for another job now. If your departure date is a year from August, you will not last that long. Once Micron says you are leaving , you are leaving. The odds of Micron keeping you another year to hang around a department that has lost its mission is zero. Look out for yourself and find another job. Time passes quickly.

Different areas have been given a different departure dates, I guess. Fortunately our area is relatively safe for now.
What departments were told about the August date? I have seen it on here a few times. People in the fab have not heard anything about August.
Stay or leave, if I find another job I am gone. If I cannot I have no choice but to stay and save money...
Anyone who has been at micron a long time have had plenty of time to prepare for this, so if it takes a year to get a job they should be ready for it.
