Why do people on here say we will be around for at least 3 more years. If we are profitable now, why would we leave in 3 years. If we're not profitable in the U.S. would the shareholders be willing to wait another 3 years? I do know we are set up for regional distribution now.

Not sure what numbers your looking at, but numbers are not up! Market share could be up in your area but that means literally nothing, the only number that matters is profit! Market share is irrelevant?? How stupid are you??? That’s the KPI that matters. One poster below said it best- do everything you can to prevent DSD from going away. You have the power and last time I checked are paid for it. If you do actually work for Nabisco- DO YOUR JOB. The employees at most of our accounts make 50% less than we do. Yes, the stores get to keep 100% of the profit they make on sales. But nothing is free. No free delivery, no free merchandising, no free nothing. It is all added to the cost of the cracker they buy. That's why our stuff is way more expensive than the store brand and our competitors. And that also means sales are going to continue to regress.

How does warehouse help the store I can see how it help MDLZ but how does it help the stores?
I have that will buy pallets of product and keep it on in store when the price is good enough and do a gradual increase to full price with 50%+ margin on the last 10-15 cases

Even if DSD is dead you dont know and I'm in an area where finding and getting a full time job at what I need to make to live is easy lm trained in many different fields of work and have skills this job breaks down to b---s---ing will managers for displays and packaging out cookies. Reality is we do not own the stores, it’s a contractual agreement to be dsd, and the retailers don’t want it!! Lots to understand about this business and it sounds like you know very little! Nabisco will have to eliminate SKU's if they're planning to go warehouse. Store's charge a slotting fee for every SKU. A cheap company like Nabisco won't go for that. DSD isn't going away. Just eliminating territories and laying off reps. Merchandising and driver's will still be around. Reps will be eliminated.

Yep it's just CAO! Mondelez is committed to DSD! Walmart and Kroger can't even keep their products filled. They don't have time to do our products also. DSD isn't going anywhere. No layoffs.
The closest Kroger to me is hundreds of miles away, my last 6 out of 8 quarters was over 100%, I have had CAO in stores for years, kebler is always empty and down in sales around me.

Mexico, one of the emerging markets, who is warehouse, sells three different sku’s of Oreo in WM, and the c/a skus.
Dumping sku's is the easy part. Do we really need that many flavors of oreo's? How about that many different size packages? See how easy that is? Problem solved.

Whomever keeps posting “we’re too big, we will never go warehouse”, really needs a better understanding of business from the school of hard knocks!! Yes, we are going warehouse. Our retailers are in the business to make money, WM and Kroger have shareholders that want a profit on their investment, Mondelez too! They need to protect their margins and in order to do so must give up the exorbitant expense of dsd. So instead of having the product ordered, and then delivered, and merchandised by Mondelez, we will simply deliver to their warehouses, which are already in place, ordered by CAO, merchandised by store employees, and delivered on their trucks, which by the way are already going their anyways. In return they will save money on each and every case, thus having to ability to lower their prices in store, and thus being more competitive. Really simple. As far as sku’s, we will have to abandon quite a few! Not their problem, Mondelez problem! Too bad we aren’t driving the ship, retailers are! Hope this lesson helps! Maybe now you’ll see how niave you appear with your,”we are never leaving dsd” statement. Look around now, see all the wheels in motion, moving us away from dsd!
