Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Overtime

They ask us to come in on overtime on sat n sun on our days off yet you can't schedule any days off for vacation time earned. Why help them out when we can't even get vacation days. They don't care about us n we shouldn't care about them. Stop working ot to help them out of this sh-- storm they created.

Sure. I like $ but time with my family is more important to me than money. I spend enough time at the farm.

Drowning in overtime and no options for PTO... as mentioned earlier, hoard money, pay off debts, and BOUNCE.

No amount of money is worth having to give up everything else that is important in life.

I literally gave up the things that were most important to me for the Farm due to their "non optional" overtime and call center schedule (which is no way to schedule Claims Specialists)

Never again.

Money won't buy you sanity. Hoard the cash, create a plan and bounce.

Not op - work Proximity but I do understand when enough is enough. We have had to work OT for the past 3 years. We have seasonal spikes of claims and you have to work 20 - 30 hrs. a week OT for 5 - 6 months just to stay somewhere near caught up with the new inspections. When the spike ends, people start taking vacations and that is when the company gets tight on OT. It is impossible to do the normal workload without OT when people are on vacation. And now we will be going down people with the Proximity QTD of 7/31. Unless the hubs start magically keeping more work (which I know you folks aren't staffed to do) it is only going to get worse. Yes, more money is more money but after a while money is no longer an incentive. You are just tired, stressed out & frustrated that this is what you have to look forward to until the next round of cuts.

I should probably send my former manager a thank you card for finally pushing the limit of their inappropriate behavior to the point where I finally quit.

It was the best thing I ever did for myself.
