Wireless gets the Axe!

Howdy folks,

Just wanted to give you all a heads up our management team informed the wireless associates in PA that the company has decided to go another direction. As of this summer, wireless will be a 3rd party vendor system.

I’m sure this will save the company billions in the upcoming years, and ever so kindly kill the customer service.

Best of Luck to all of you.

Our club was told.. yet nobody has showed up for training. The DIRECT TV people say it’s not them and they know nothing about it. What the heck is going on? Manager claims he doesn’t know. It’s his club. He made the announcement. Why the bleep doesn’t he know. Not my department but I feel bad for the wireless folks.

I was just informed of this change (6/8/2018) in our Dallas Texas Club today. I wasn't surprised, as I had found out about the pilot program several months ago on the Wire. I just didn't know how fast or company wide they were going to roll it out. They said I could change positions or take severance pay. There are a few points I would like to make about the options. First of all, if the position they offer you would result in a pay cut, you do NOT have to take a pay cut! If YOU choose to step down to a lower paying position, yes. But if they eliminate the position, NO! Stand up for yourself on this one because I know a lot of people who have believed what they were told. Second of all, if they do offer you a position and you decide not to take it, you can't decide to quit and then take severance pay. "If you are offered (a) comparable job within the company and decline the new position, you are not eligible for severance." As soon as the guy told me that "changes were coming to wireless" I told HIM what they what going to be, because I already knew. As a LONG time associate, I would like to think I know what I am talking about or at least believe that this information is correct. Now it's time to weigh my options and see what positions the offer me. Good luck to everyone that finds themselves in the position.

My time has come. I was the audit team lead. Lost my job. Went to the floor. Worked my a-- off. Got center TL. Now I'm a MIT. I worked my a-- off. Never botched and complained. Just worked. Maybe instead of coming on here and b--ching. Work hard and not worry about it.

Anyone who thinks people are being over dramatic or should be upset are idiots. When you apply for a position that YOU wanted and have done a great job then suddenly they're told you no longer have that and you have to take a pay cut and do whatever is available, then yes they have every right to be upset. Don't worry, everyone else's time is coming.... It's been said on here too many times. Get out now.

You are to take on a new position in the store. Which most positions will be a pay cut! I don't think it's fair about the pay cut part!

It's probably more of a lateral move honestly. Instead of a person wasting their time at wireless, they'll just spending their time helping members in electronics and hardlines.
