Thread regarding ADP layoffs

I was laid off from ADP this year and I am so much happier now that I no longer work in that depressing place.

My words of advice to others - there is life after ADP. I am more relaxed now and I think that upper management will realize at year end this year what a terrible mistake it was to let go of TENURED talent. There is a reason for paying higher wages - you retain better talent.

Have fun at year end ADP with your cheap labor. Don’t come crying to any of us that you laid off.

You do not get any sympathy from me. I only feel bad for the good employees lives that you have ruined.

ADP - you will reap what you sow.

I left on 6/1 by accepting the ERP. The only sound advice I can give you is to rollover pension lump sum from ADP.

The ADP pension can fail if ADP starts going down financially. The government guarantees that pensions will not disappear if a company goes under, but the government does not guarantee that the payout will stay the same. I remember reading a news article that when one company collapsed, the government took over the payments to the pensioners but the monthly payout was at about 10 percent of what it was before the company failed.

When I left ADP I took my pension lump sum, so now this reduction cannot happen to me once ADP collapses.

It took just a few days to get my 401K transferred but a few weeks to finally get ADP pension lump sum to my own IRA rollover account.

I took the early retirement as well and I am worried about the whole money situation. Can anyone that got the June 1st date tell me how fast they got paid out and whether there was any issue that I need to be aware off?

I was laid off June 1st. For Pension, once I got my account number from the bank, I was able to complete online submission and received within two weeks. For 401K, I got my check within a week. I did it all online and did not have any issues. I called the numbers ADP gave us and everyone was so helpful. I have all money invested and I did use a financial adviser with my bank.

Wondering what will happen to ADP pension if ADP has financial trouble, bankruptcy, or being acquired. Can ADP pension get the ax?

It cannot vaporize - they can roll it over to the fund of their choice if you do not do the paperwork in time, but there is no way legally they can just keep your money. There are ERISA laws that are very tight and if you signed the form you will get your money. If you do not roll over in time they may send it to an account you did not choose, but they will send you information on where it is and you can roll it from them or keep it where they put it.

I also left ADP on 6/1. In the process of completing both my 401k and pension rollover to my broker account since ADP pension fund can vaporize if we do not transfer our entire fund out of ADP in time.
