Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Just curious what you guys thought ten years ago?

When the purging of older employees started? I had been with the company for twenty three years. Got wrote up once my last year! It was over some bs interaction I had with a lazy csa, but I digress.

Did you have empathy for us? Did you see the writing on the wal? Did you think we were dead wood?

You will survive. You will likely take a step back financially but you will survive. I found a job that allows me to work from home a lot and I come and go as I please. That’s nice!

I utilized my skill set to open my own business and it was the best move I ever made. They lost a skilled 21 year employee. I never looked back until today as today some of my ex colleagues are being laid off on Friday in the old northeast zone. Life after state farm is a breath of fresh air. Take my word on that.

Oh I’ve moved on but I will draw a retirement check when I’m ready. When I was hired. I got a company car and played golf twice a week. It was a crappy place ten years ago too

I thought working at SF was GREAT 10 years ago. Also, I really hope that 10 years after leaving this awful place that I'm over how badly they've burned their employees, and completely moved on.
