Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Limited to Tacoma or company wide?

Yesterday we received notification that starting Monday July 9, 2018 we would no longer have access to CTL's as a resource as they were either let go or reassigned as CS. Is this happening everywhere or is Tacoma just special?

It’s happening everywhere. Phoenix, Dallas, and Atlanta. All about the expense ratio.

Well on the other hand when have someone that calls the CTL line at least 4-5 times a day, if not more, and there are people that abuse the CTL line for answers to questions that are right there in SCP's , or the answer is just common sense, I can see why they are maybe cutting that resource out.

Feedback forms are waste of time. I wonder if the managers even pass them along sometimes. I would be sending a feedback form on almost every claim I touched, who has time for that. I fix the mistakes and keep going, unless of course there something really egregious in the claim.

You do need to stick up for yourself and watch your back, I have been held accountable for not cleaning up someone else's mess, like setting the calendar for the stupid jurisdictional letters, you touch a claim and you don't make sure you double check the calendar, then BAMM it's on your back, why do I have to constantly clean up after people and then get held accountable because I missed a spot?

They are looking at everything in every way possible to find reasons to get rid of people, maybe cutting the CTL line was one way....I know that there are some that won't know how to function without it.

Make no mistake, they don’t care about you. They want you to trip up on metrics because it’s easier to fire you. They also do bully you to admit to things you didn’t do. Don’t do it. What happened to the company that actually wanted you to succeed in your role? If things didn’t go great Your manager(at least a good one) would work with you to resolve it and understand what you are doing wrong. No more. Bean counting metrics for what? No work life balance? Pretty soon the only people working at SF will be hood rats with no where else to go.

Does not matter so much when you have most managers that have never even did your own job, only can keep records of feedbacks and tell you how you did not do something correctly. I suggest for any manager Do not micromanage the employees that have even stuck around through Tipsord. Most managers Never handled a claim but, want to "coach" you then hold it against for not doing something when 10 others did not either. affecting a potential raise and opportunities. Some fellow Complex and Express send negative feedbacks to the front end line because opening an obvious 200 COL apparently takes more time than to feedback or not doing it theirself.

It is a lot easier to send a message via Skype to let the person directly know under you than it takes to send feedback.

SF does not want you to communicate directly, and that should change. We are 1 SF so quit effecting people's lives with feedbacks. Do it directly as I do via Skype or do it youself. I help and work with my teammates if they are on my team or not.

A piece of paper does not mean you know how to do these very stressful jobs, I have worked my way up somewhat and still am treated terrible from some managers. SF will be lucky to make it to 100 years under Tipsord.

CALL QUEUES EVERYYYYYY DEPARTMENT, other than CCC ....most of the time.

This is organization wide. They are downsizing all demand pools in Express. It's sink or swim. They will be slowly eliminating a lot of CAs in any way possible by way of metrics, policy violations, and constructive dismissals. They will keep some associates in AILR and move some to property complex.

In Dallas, we were told they are being reassigned to assist with the Property Specialist for awhile to help out with claims. Meanwhile, our TM told us to review the SCPs, then use him as a last resort. But, yeah....no more TL line.

No I think you are misunderstanding something. There are new numbers for the CTL's, licensed and unlicensed, and a number for CTL's for Vermont claims.
