Just saw that Japan was on the selling block. Wonder which country is next? Argentina, Chile, Central America? Its a shame to see what was once a promising division of the company being dismantled....if only the current regime had any understanding of the work that was done to build it......Wonder if any of the current US formats will get sold???

Japan is a little island country with limited physical resources, dwindling available real estate and an ever increasing population. Economically, they radically over extended themselves during their meteoric rise in the 80s (kinda like Walmart), and now there they sit, almost dead in the water, with limited capital to gain decent loans.
I'd feel sorry for them if they hadn't tried to murder us in the 90s.
There’s always a rumor that Sam’s club will be sold but it never happens.
Honestly, the business in Japan is not good. And in Brazil, it's worse and maybe getting more worse due to the political climates. These areas are a massive s--- of funds and Walmart is not getting the payback. It's time to dump and run. All companies dump badly performing sectors. It's simply business.
