Did Xerox offer a bridge to retirement for those old enough to do so? Either stretching the 12 week severance to 24 weeks, and/or adding in a year of inactive status to meet the retirement target?

24 weeks severance is unheard of these days. Even 12 weeks is very very rare. Usually it's 2 weeks + unused vacation days and a kick in the pants.
There is a person I know that is age 50 with 28 years experience- no bridge offered. Seems horrible.
They are allowing bridge to retirement to all employees up to one year to either bridge to tenure requirement of 10 yrs for those already 55 or bridge to age requirement of 55 if their tenure is 30+ years. Not allowing for bridge would cause another Class Action lawsuit like the one they lost from 1982 rid of workers 50+
My guess would be no, they won't bridge anymore.
