Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

300 people is all that 273 will need in Schenectady

After every layoff the numbers of the union decrease drastically and stay that way! No more 1200 union members at 273! It will be 300 once they ship the stuff to Alstom. The company had to create 675 jobs in France or pay 50,000 euros per job not created. That’s over $33 million in US dollars. So far over 300 union jobs been lost since January more to come! There are about 650 members left and about 85% are d rates.

I’m glad I voted yes and moved the t rates out of a job but believe me when I say this d rates will be out of a job too. 2019-2020 the year Schenectady 273 stops manufacturing. I’d love to see a d rate make $17-$20 an hour and crying

You must be a t rate. You do realize it would cost them more then 50,000 person to actually hire those people with their pay and benefits and crazy amount of time off in the eu right?

The ceo I had already informed the French government that the job numbers will not met. The only thing to be decided is we’re getting fined or not 30 mil. Which is nothing. The plant in Poland just cost us 60 mil with bad welds. Please do some research before posting.

All the T rates said they wanted the same pay, which means 1 pay scale. That's exactly what there will be in a short matter of time when they get rid of them all. Congratulations on voting yourself out of a job!!
