Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

There will be no fair rating process

Anybody actually believes that the whole rating process and subsequent culling of assistant managers is going to be merit based? If anybody does, they are extremely naive.

We'll see what we always see: the usual group of mostly useless brown-nosers is going to come out on top at the costs of some of the company's best.

This is really bad for stores and the company as a whole, but that never stopped them before...

Of course it’s the women, minorities, anyone that checks a box on a diversity survey and also the f---tards they can run over and abuse that will be kept on. Because they are the future of Walmart. If you are let go, just be glad you will no longer be subjected to all the b---s--- and low rent trash that shops there.

Loyalty in Wally's eyes is overrated

Treat your employment like a business relationship. You produce, they pay you...rinse and repeat. Always keep your resume up to date. Apply for a new job...go to interviews...OFTEN. Don't let yourself be lulled into a false sense of security.

I was told Walmart couldn’t afford the severance with the amount of people. We needed to cut 20% and I was one of them. After 17years of exceeds I got a needs and 60 days to find another job. I applied for 200 jobs but only got a handful of interviews which went well but never heard back. It’s a right to work state no fighting to get a severance. IF YOU ARE OFFERED SEVERANCE TAKE IT they don’t care but it’s extra money. 17 years worth of awards associate of the month and nothing in the bank to show for it. There’s life after Walmart and glad to be promoted to customer (haha never mind my family don’t shop there anymore everywhere else is cheaper). Good luck to those transitioning. If you know of a lawyer I could call let me know it doesnt seem right but they aren’t stupid they have the law in their back pocket.

I was also fired from Sams club when they used this survey and rating system to fire tons of Asst Mgrs. I was told that I did not meet the requirements of the performance rating however I was never once written up for performance. If you sign for your severance you lose the right to challenge it in court. This was a horrible ordeal to go through, I cannot believe they are about to do this to all Walmart managers also. On a positive note, life without Walmart isn't the end of the world. I was offered a job as an APM/Operations manager at Target and they started me at 65k based on my experience. I wish you all the best because this rating was a very unfair process.

If you want your severance you cant sue. You sign a contract if you don't sign no severance.

They did this at Sam's Club. I know I was a assistant manager and got let go. No coachings , no issues. It's all based on whom the store manager favors.
