Microsoft recently handed out stock bonuses, with some valued at more than $100,000, to its engineers to keep them from being poached by competitors. Those incentives were said to be as high as 1,000 shares of Microsoft stock, which is currently trading above $107 per share, making the value of the bonuses worth as much as $107,000 -- and potentially more over time. These awards vest progressively, enticing employees to stay longer -- the longer they stay, the more they earn. Historically, Microsoft's annual bonuses have vested over a five-year period, with employees earning equal amounts each year.

It was more loke 65k in rsu, granted over several years. But yes they did pay this and not just to devs

Oracle works to incite the best employees to leave. That's the goal. The best are usually the most expensive. LE and MH just think "who needs 'em?" We can hire cheap in India and get 5 for the price of one. Dumb, dumb, dumb

What percentage of those RSU awards were 1000 shares?

What was the average grant, how many shares?

Do all engineers get RSU's, or do only "key" people get them?

FWIW, I know a few people who used to work for MFST, and were either laid off, or quit, and who swear they will never go back.

Also, thought this was interesting:

So, you have to wait 5 or more years for the bulk of your RSU's to vest.
