VZW has thought of another way to screw laid off or retired workers. I just got a letter in the mail that they are reducing the 50% service discount to 25% effective January 1st. They went on to say if you switched from VZW to another provider that you couldn't come back and receive a discount. The 25% discount is the same discount that employees from Home Depot get. How many billions did VZW earn last quarter? Come on VZW throw us a bone! I for one will now be looking to reduce my plan or switch to another provider.

Got the letter as well. Eff them. Got a job with MetroPCS under T-Mo. Employees get 75% off the bill. So my 4 lines all in are $40! Just hoping LayerTV discount hits at the same 75% off. Could you image TV and Wireless for $100 total? Screw you VZW. Eat it.
Yes but each anti trust violation fine cost Vz up to 10 million dollars each, probably another consent decree AND bad press. I say drop a dime if you have dirt AND THEN post it on social :)
Most anti trust violations are not commited with malice or premeditation, they are a by-product of bad management (mostly understaffing - employees cutting corners, etc to avoid the RIF list...ironic, huh) There are probably hundreds of potential violations growing in the dark inside the VZ-sphere... like mushrooms, waiting for someone to shine a light on them.
Agree that the letter was cold and indignant! We have choices if they don't want us...screw them. But I urge everyone affected to take to all forms of social media. Post the letter (it's sure as hell not proprietary) as I did. I sent it to T-Mobile to exploit it in their advertising. Post on FB/Twitter/Instagram. Sent to media outlets. VZ does not like bad press, and with all the other bad press out there this is the only way IMHO to "give it back". My 2 cents!
There was a post on here last week threatening to drop a dime on Vz for anti trust violations if they get rid of the 50% discount. Looks like it got pulled. I’m sure there are more than 1 potential whistleblower out there. Dirtbag move on Verizon’s part IMO

Meanwhile they keep finding jobs for their washed up executives like Tami Erwin and all her protected understudies like Ken Lain. Do a better job cleaning house and you won't need to nickle and dime the benefits.
Husband and I got the same letter. And I agree, the tone of the letter was horrible. Just cold and unapologetic. Sticking it to people that spent decades working for them and on a fixed income. That’s a new low. They’re timing is not the greatest. There was a lot of press about them throttling the fire fighters fighting the wild fires.
Got that same letter. My response to Martha wouldn’t have fit on a power point slide, so I didn’t bother to even try.
The BS way the letter was worded was more insulting than the decision.
