Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

How hard are the survivors working to cover holes from those irif’d

I am wondering just how hard survivors are working to fill holes in work processes left unassigned when the mid August IRIF eliminated people who were the only ones supporting some business critical processes in Finance. I know I can’t takeover what is left because my days are already full. Is anyone letting things break to make it obvious the cuts weren’t executed based on any intelligent decision making?

Why bother? There is no raise on the way.

If something critical falls by the wayside then so be it. Its up to management and upper management to find someone to do it

ELT doesn't care about work being done or not... don't you people see??? if it is not this one it is going to be the next round of layoffs that hits you. Xerox is dead and the only one benefiting form it is Carl Icahn.

I think people prioritize the workload rationally, and when it’s too much, the work simply doesn’t get done.

If you're letting things break intentionally, it's not really proving that cuts weren't executed based on any intelligent decision making...

I did exactly that and I was in the next round of layoffs.

Maintaining work-life balance is on you. I've been with Xerox over decades. I cannot count the number of rounds of layoffs I have seen. If the math was such that those remaining carried all the same load, no one left would have lasted two years.

In other words, communicate with your management and don't try to be a hero.

The pressure to keep up with the work is taking its toll on my health and others I work with who are still here. I support an internal platform. I cannot name it or it will be obvious who I am and I prefer to remain anonymous for the time being. What I will say is that we are being pushed very hard to automate a lot of the support aspects of this platform which leads me to believe that one or possibly both of us will be cut later this year. If that happens, you will know the difference. There will be nobody to ask for support for this platform except for the manager who knows nothing about this platform. The support team is hanging in there because it’s still money but it’s hard.

As a former Manager at Xerox who left years ago... I had to layoff a lot of great people.

Each time I was told that their work was no longer needed. Took about 3 days and senior management wanted their work product and I had to remind them they decided they chose to not have it. Yep... all the way to Ursula who was the most incompetent ever!

Yes I will be. No choice. I’ve been left with the work of 4 people. I m not sure what’s going to happen.
