Tacoma status update request: please help, trying to sell my home

Can anyone in Tacoma, or anyone who knows what’s going on out there provide me with any information about the 250 jobs State Farm is supposed to move to Bloomington? I am trying to sell my house and haven’t had any luck at all thanks to the large number of homes on the market. Can anyone tell me what’s going on with the jobs in Bloomington in general? Am I totally screwed?

Bloomington has waves of postings in the Auto-BI and Auto-PD (Total Loss) units. Wait.... didn't they get rid of CTLU a few years ago... Oh yeah. Oh well. Anyway, there are, last look, 230 CS postings for Auto-PD (Large Loss).

Bloomington real estate market is a buyers market due to the reductions here. The market range with the biggest hit is the $200K-$400K due to lack of buyers. The lower market range is moving, but slowly.

Tacoma got closed early and on short notice because of the city's business practices (minimum wage and sick leave).

Since Tacoma enacted their new policy, Washington State has passed similar mandates. The Farm will get the heck out of DuPont as soon as they can and they won't give employees proper notice.

The smart people in DuPont (who aren't close to retirement) saw the writing on the wall and got the hell out.

Nothing but stress and high blood pressure for anyone in DuPont at this point.

I agree with the DuPont speculation. We haven’t brought in an outside hire in over a year. We will be full when what is left of the Tacoma folks move in but with the attrition rate, there will be few left in 18 months.

DuPont is on the chopping block. They are waiting on Bloomington to get up and running then look for announcements in the next 12-18 months.

The state of Washington is not business friendly (cost of labor, taxes, fees, cost of living, etc) and other locations are handling the much of the same work as DuPont. This is no different than California.

I know tacoma is supposed to be completely move out by the end of 2018. Starting next week people in DuPont are being moved around to start the process of making space for people from tacoma moving into the DuPont office. I would figure the 250 moving to Bloomington would be there by 2019 so they should be house hunting soon if not already.
