Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Any positive suggestions?

No matter which name emerges as a possible new CEO of Intel, we have everybody and their mother crying foul and listing dozens of reasons why that person is so wrong for that positions.

Is there ANYBODY people can actually agree on as a good future CEO for the company? Can anybody think of a name that will not garner an avalanche of objections?

I don’t know who could do this. Agree that whoever it is will need to come in and purge / change the culture in order to “fix” things. That’s a tough job as there has already been a massive culture change over the last couple of years following ACT and BK and Bob Swan. So who can step into that mess and fix it when it’s already in the sh-- tank with astronmical turnover, inability to meet commitments and deliver on product roadmaps, up or out mentality across grade3-8 level employees, low morale, dysfunctional team dynamics, lacking trust and transparency across the company, poor core value system including lacking ethics/tone at the top and several disfunctional departments including HR?

Intel needs an outsider and yet an insider like Kirk...

Kirk last fixed the AMD problem and gave DCG on a platter to DB who broke it. Want to break anything? Just give it to DB

NS. In his time in CCG he really brought in efficiency. He should be doing it for the whole company.

My vote would go to Kirk, but, like Pat, I think he's way too smart to accept the $hit job of Intel CEO after the Krzanich disaster.

Dunno. It will be a crappy Job to be the next CEO. The next CEO will really need to do a massive purge and culture change in order to fix Intel and that will cause a lot of people to be unhappy. Being a nice guy would just mean that Intel keeps going down. The new CEO must come outside the company. All the current VPs s---.

No insider can solve Intel's problems. Lisa Su would be good, aggressive CEO that would probably tear up and reorganize the company. Probably has already done this case study about Intel strengths and weaknesses as a major competitor.

Both previous posts are more or less correct. Anyone who knows PG or KS would agree that they are probably the only two ex-Intel execs that would be action-oriented enough to at least make a dent in the problems. But the issues are so deep-rooted that it would probably make better sense to go with an outsider, particularly one with decent process/foundry knowledge.

Since PG has already said No, maybe the compromise is to hire KS for CEO and give him carte blanche to hire a new TMG head from one of the major foundries. That would be a decent solution.

The new CEO needs to be outside of Intel or it will be business as usual.
