A few of my managers have been mentioning that “Electronics is not the future for this club” and have mentioned to other people that “all this” (meaning electronics) might not be here in a year or two. Anyone else hearing this?

Fresh is the priority because fresh DRIVES sales. PERIOD.. people shop for fresh first and all the rest second. In my store the produce Department carries the entire club in sales increases and has over 7% sales penetration over all. And in the bakery the profit margins are staggering.. with the “New Low Price” yellow sign program the sales comps are terrible across the board right now and clubs sales budgets were of course not changed to compensate... so while most other categories are in the red.. fresh has to pic up the pace

Fresh is the only priority. Screw the rest of the club.
Get rid of seasonal which we markdown every year to see through first, we always lose money. Electronics is a better area to sell. Members trust our department

I don’t work at Sams but am a member and, sorry to say it, but never in my wildest dreams would ever be electronics there. Sams is just too dirty.
