The pay plan changed last month.... you only keep your pay if you make a lateral move. If you go down a level, your pay will be reduced by a certain percentage (I don’t remember the exact amount). If your pay is over the maximum for that payband, your pay will be reduced to the maximum.

Good Morning Everyone,

It upsets me when people do others wrong. I have been with this company for more than 20 yrs. I hate it when people either do it on purpose and tell associates wrong information or do not take the time to find the information for them. However, with that being said everything you all need to know about pay is on the wire. Always double check what someone is telling you.

As for pay, if your job is eliminated and you take another role, you are supposed to keep your pay. However, it can only be kept at the say pay if you move into the same level or 1 level down. If not it an be calculated at which every lower level where you are not walking in making the bare minimal pay for that pay grade. The Managers or Personnel have to go into the Associate Data Maintenance screen and key it in for your pay to be moved back. This process can only be done one for one move after your the position is eliminated. Now there are different levels that it has to go through to be approved but yes, it can be done.

Unfortunately, some of but not all of our leaders do not really care about how changes actually affect the associates. They are just happy it is not them. If they have questions or still do not know how to complete this task, they can call HRSS or Payroll and they will walk them through it. Can this be done back? Yes it can. I have completed several of these for associates. So I know it can be done and I have done it. I have even encounter an associate who was affected by the changes years ago when they first downsized accounting and money was not completed correctly. I along with Home Office was able to fix the associates pay. It just takes someone to actually care and time to do what is best for our associates. No matter what people think or feel, we still have to take of them and we should. As for my associates, I do everything I can to help them for you never know my position could be next and I would want to be treated with respect and fairly.

I hope this helps someone but you as managers and leaders in this company can always call HRSS and Payroll for help when dealing with associates pay rates.

Thank you and good luck to you all.

I would suggest you read page 28 of the pay plan. It's available on the wire. Don't believe everything you are told.

If it’s involuntary, you keep your pay rate. Even if the new position pays less. That’s what I was told, HR has to adjust it.

BTW grade level maximums increased with no announcement so those maxed out will be eligible for a raise next year.

The new Pay Plan dated July of this year states job eliminations will follow standard guidelines. Meaning the associates will have to accept lower pay. Previous plans had provisions to keep your pay.

I'm an x audit and had pay deduction, then we found the pay policy and states that if your job was eliminated then the company could not deduct pay, reported it to home office hr people and was back paid for the 6 months.

You certainly DO NOT KEEP YOUR PAY RATE. you go down what ever level it is... or if you are a Lead stepping down you Automatically lose 10% regardless. Unless you are maxed out at ~$24. You’ll more than likely step down to the standard max of 20.50?

I'm a x audit person. Get your story straight I did not keep my pay. You only keep it if you go to same level

Severance is offered if you do not

accept another position in the company. Severance was given to our Audit and Business office associates if they did not stay with the company . RECEIVING has not been involved. Please get your depts correct.

It's TRUE. The displaced associates, will not be keeping their pay. Unlike audit and receiving where they kept their pay. Connection associates will drop in pay if they take a job with a lesser pay grade. I am a connection associate, and I was told today. Makes no sense

It's obvious what the original poster was meaning to say. Did you hear from a reliable source or are you just speculating?

How bright of an illumination are we talking about here? Bright as the moon? Can I be illuminated forever? If so, I’ll take being illuminated over some crappy Sam$hare any day!
