Receiving and claims positions announced this week Sam’s are going away. Replaced by a new position . I have never seen such low morale in stores and clubs, sad days ahead I’m just waiting for the next round of closing stores and clubs.

If any of you believe these folks are not closing more Clubs you are kidding yourselves. I understand why, it’s difficult to come to terms with. You hope it is not so.

There will be more blood letting more closings , more heartaches to come unfortunately. Not rumor mongering just sharing what experience and every sign you see flashing is telling us . We just need to open our eyes . You know it’s coming. Company is a train wreck with no end in sight. Just a fact .

Why have a brick and mortar tying up dollars only to serve a community when you can shut those stores down and serve the entire online market?

If this business concept doesn’t sink in and wake you up, you’re truly in complete denial about the very near future!

Definition of insanity in full bloom right now!

I worked at one of the Sam's clubs that closed this year and we never saw it coming. After working for the same club for over 22 years I got tired of playing the waiting game. (wait and see if you have a job) so I took the severance and bowed out. Retail is no more it's all about online purchases and how fast I can get my product. Right now Amazon has everyone beat and I don't see them falling to the way side anytime soon. Walmart had a chance years ago to do the online purchases but they shut it down. If you remember we had the online music where your could buy a song for 99 cents and download it to your computer ordering merchandise didn't take as long as it does today. Walmart dropped the ball years ago and now its biting them in the a--.

I disagree, I think there will be closing of Sam’s also , the sales ; membership is just not up as much as they thought it would be with the ones that closed . There will also be restructuring of positions in the Clubs

I'd expect the next round to be weighed more heavily to Walmart stores.

Supercenters and Neighborhood Markets that have been spared thus far may be more of the target. Especially in areas where there are multiple stores within a 5 to 10 mile radius in suburban or semi-suburban areas.

Anyway... Back to my question. Will it be more than 30 stores this time.

Question though. It was rumored to be about 30 stores this year. Can you say if that pretty accurate or will there be more than that?

No use warning them.

They don’t believe that it will happen to them. Safer working at Dollar General. Smh

I've been saying this... I got out when they closed my store. I'm not sticking around. I got a new, way better job while the job market is good. There's another market crash coming soon, and these weak people that stayed because they were comfy are going to learn a hard lesson. Even if they get out during the next round and move on, they will be a new person when the markets go to crud again. They'll be the first in line to get their walking papers if their new company takes a hit. Some people I still talk with who took a job at Walmart, are still all Gaga over Sam's for whatever reason. Just waiting for a good position to open up so they can go back. It's like they get up and take stupid pills everyday. The place is crumbling people! I've seen so many others try to warn you, but you don't listen! Get out while you can! Falls on deaf ears.
