Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

Mattel Departments

Do you know which Mattel departments will be hit in this round of the layoffs. Also, what positions will be impacted the most and what locations.

I know we are all guessing but I am hoping that someone who might have more insight into what will happen to departments will be able to chime in.

Good point. Don’t immediately sign anything. Take a few days. Talk with lawyer if you want. Realize they are giving severance not out of generosity but as a quid pro quo. You get severance but give up various rights for it. And yes you can negotiate a severance sometimes. ABove all realize it isn’t end of world. Yeah it s---s at the time. But most people end up eventually in better places. Really!

Please tell your colleagues that we just published a book to help people negotiate better severance deals when they are laid off. Hoping it is helpful to folks. Better to read it before the event happens: "Don't sign anything: A guide for the day you are laid off." https://www.amazon.com/dp/1986944115

Design and marketing should be safe. The CEO is always talking about how product innovation and creativity are integral to his vision of the company's future state. What's he call it, a high performance toy company or something along those lines? Seems like leadership has the Global Development & Product Supply in their crosshairs. Good luck to everyone.
