Severance

Does anyone know how long it takes to get the severance promised? I was laid off June 29, 2018 and still don’t have ny check. I know they had time to cut the check, I had to train my replacement in India!!

At least in the U.S. the timing of the severance payment depends on when they processed your WFR paperwork. I was terminated June 29, 2018 and I received my severance 30 days later on July 31, 2018.

When I was made redundant in Australia my management role (seemingly surplus to requirements) actually resulted in 3 DXC employees taking on my work. I was not upset but my replacements are still at DXC and no doubt upset that I received a 40% pay rise working for a competitor. Sux to work for DXC.

Off topic, but why did you train your replacement in India?? Well because he was getting paid to do a job and when were paid to do a job we do it. We can't blame the India guy/girl they are just trying to support their families. We can blame the CEO's of ours and others for sending jobs offshore.

If our people don't work, they don't purchase items. If they don't purchase stuff then our clients fail and DXC fails along with them.

Not like some of the do nothings at this company, for those who say they just sit around and don't ask for work I say f--- you and your part of the reason we are having so many WRF's.

But on the other hand I say but in your 40 or less hours of work, don't work over time without pay or time off. But while on the clock work, because as a professional that is your role.

I am in the US and my 8+ hours are long done.

Have you submitted a PRB and ATF form for that?

Are you US based... UK... India...?

Where you are will determine how the severance is paid and when.

In my case I received the WFR payment 1 business day before being terminated. I was laughing all the way to the bank (literally). Many of my mates in Australia experienced this too most likely due to their more favorable labour laws.

DXC being a bunch of money hungry dic---ads will want to delay the payment as long as possible.

In the UK you get it on the next month's pay run. Kerching!

In my case over a years money all safely banked or stashed in my pension and an immediate start on a contract role lined up. Thank you Mike Lawrie you shameless, one trick pony spiv.

I was in a similar situation but it was direct deposited on day 28 of my WFR. So in your case expect it near June 27.

Nope not with DXC, my last day was June 29th. I still don’t have it.

I always thought it was immediate, or assumed it was.

Please define “severance promised”. If you have a written contract you have something to follow up on. If verbal only, you are SOL.
