It's official. The new name for homes is Resideo. They will keep Honeywell Homes on the box for a while but will slowly move to Resideo.

David, this is the same company that put avionics in 7 CH47 helicopters for the UK . They would not buy a service agreement do 7 years later Honeyhell stopped making parts for those boxes forcing the UK to purchase an entire new updated set . They were k/balling parts from each helo until they only had 2 flight worthy. No customer service at all,

This company sh#ts on their customers. In 2013 I purchased a $2,500 Aquatrol systems for my house. Now I find out they stopped making a critical part that failed. So now my entire system is junk. What a c-appy company.
S---ing up the tax profits in Switzerland while producing nothing but confusion. They said it would be "independent" from mothership but haven't fully let go, don't think they're going to either. Bad managers still mismanaging things, the good people left a long time ago. People are literally being paid to sit in their offices and do nothing, most don't even bother to come in anymore.
This paid blog is surveying its readership on the name Residio. It says they have 30 responses. Does anyone out there subscribe to this? Please tell us how Residio is doing

ever since I heard the name I can't get the jingle for "activia" out of my head. Maybe they can sign Jamie Lee Curtis as the spokesperson and she can do commercials and end it with the "Resideo" jingle

@3chz- I believe the reason that they are doing a spin rather than selling the company is because if they sold it there would be tax implications and the spin is tax free. I believe that once the spin is complete you will see this business broken up and sold in pieces (distribution, thermostats, security) because I think that will bring the shareholders the most value. Resideo will not be in a position to compete with google and amazon.
Keep in mind the only reason they are spinning off homes is because nobody else wanted to buy it. Fire will be soon to follow as the current management structure is running it into the ground. Almost seems intentional....remember, Honeywell wants to be a software company.

gdi, Maybe that is why they created the spin. Too much bad talk about Honeywell on this site. We'll see if a new one gets started under Resideo.
