We'll be looking at major layoffs and closings very soon, with consolidation and cost saving cuts from the new owner.

UNFI only acquired SV for quick cash. Certain Supervalu distribution centers will be sold to further line their pockets. After UNFI establishes it new SV clientele, whats left of Supervalu will be sold off.

UNFI purchased 1.6B in debt. Those companies usually loose their a--. Everyone needs to be prepared for anything. If UNFI gets the right offer all of their C-suite guys will take their stick money and RUN.

Silly Dilly il knock your teeth down your throat. The DCs are money makers. Unfi has contracts with way bigger companies than shop n save so I bet the volume is sky rocketed for the next 10 years at least. If your DC is located near another DC after the merger then I would be a lil nervous.

Supervalu is a joke go freeze your balls off for 500 dollars week because your on d--gs and wont grow up. Quit smoking your dope and go get a real mans job that pays the bills and puts your kids through college. The old guys wont be making 24 an hour after the contract change in june and when big bad unfi pulls their nuts out on the table and closes or sells everything. I cant wait to hear the old guys miserable and all crying picking over 20 on the clock making the same as us and the young guys will he laid off smoking there weed😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Start looking for another job. They overpaid for this SVU and I guarantee they will be making their money right back really quick. UNFI will start out small closing shop n saves, then they'll start closing or minimizing their DC's and most definitely sell the weakest or lowest profiting centers off. They will lose the big contract in 2027 with Wholefoods(Amazon)and that will be the big "excuse" for a layoff but in reality we all know Amazons cutting them off that year. UNFI utilizes in pallet picks more than order selecting so I can see a big layoff coming, I honestly can't see them selling the essential everyday garbage or any other GMO trash food , the shop n saves are selling like hotcakes.. so sit back and think are you going to have a job in ten years??? is it worth waiting around to find out? I been applying personally, I dont think ppl with 10 years and lower got a chance of surviving here in the grocery wars.
Yeah amazing how those at the top dodge any question about what we can expect like cowards. That means only bad news. Hope the C-suite is enjoying their bonuses, this won't turn out good for anyone else.
I don't think this is going to be a good thing. Sure, it will take time to clean house and rebuild from the bottom up, and we may hold onto our jobs until then.
For now, we just ride the wave. I've been in companies that have had buyouts/takeovers; and it never ends well for the managers/workers of the industry.
