Thanks 🙏 very much for the information and explanation greatly appreciate your willingness to make sense of a rather senseless issue here okay so you have done ✅ a service by letting us know let the word go out that the stuff is about to hit the old fan blades
Whoops, posted this on the wrong thread so reposting here: To address the question posed ..."can anyone describe what is meant by a ‘profit center’ ".... there are 3 kinds of centers at AIG - profit, expense, break even. A profit center brings in revenue (underwriting). An expense center does not bring in revenue and is funded by the profit centers (claims, HR, etc). A break even center brings in revenue, covers its own expenses and kicks any remaining $$'s up the food chain into the general revenue bucket.
Profit centers 'usually' suffer the least amount of personnel losses but even they are subject to trimming if profitability is down.
So Claims Shared Services Are At Risk If I Am Reading This Right Oh Boy Howdy Buckle Up Is Right On So Is This Right In My Assesment???
Well that’s a lot of folks getting canned anonymous in your opinion will the RIF be AIG USA Claims & or AIG Worldwide I’m seeing postings about the 2020 Project which seems to focus on moving some or much of the functions or operations to Manila or overseas what a mess AIG is in seems to be in free fall thanks
Claims is not a profit center. Shared services is not a profit centers. Basically, any part of the Company that does not bring in business.
So the impending layoffs at AIG are far reaching
Just assume everyone is getting canned
