Thread regarding Weatherford International Ltd. layoffs

Dooms days nearer for PCP and Corod in Canada

Heard from the sources of weatherford pcp and corod in edmonton that they are dead slow, most of the businesses being lost to lifting solutions since they bought rig services from weatherford. Ex weatherford employees running lifting solutions. Since losing most of the corod side of the business is an indicator by the competition that pcp and corod will be shutting the plant up in edmonton by end of the year. This plant has been playing the 59 day layoff b---s--- game. It suprises me that why would a company employ an incompetent supervisor when only one is required not two supervisors. This employee is has held job at other levels but was considered only max max barely average.... this reminds me of nepotism. Now i guess i can see why this company is in such a big mess and by still employing this kind of people will not help. Unless you are related and best golfing and hunting bud. Doom day is nearer get ready... Oil prices are up outside of weatherford world economy is in better shape companies are hiring... don't waste your precious time in this hell hole.

Co rod will be lucky if they make it until the end of the year. PCP will keep on running. The free man doesn’t care about the rod plant. Heads will be sacrificed to the Houston gods.

Did I nudge someone’s ego on here ... justifies that they still employed with the company.... i am already over weatherford and also not greedy like others that still are there...by calling me loser etc is not going to solve to FBI issues here.. i hope you understand what FBI stands for... let me remind you F- families ... B - Buddies.. I - Inlaws... I bet you that you may have one of them employed there as your douchbag side kick trying find information for you and what other employees thoughts are and if they are negative or not in line to your agenda then obviously they are the odd ones out... who wins fbi and life goes in cycle...If keep the good work fellas you will make as 1 FBI.... no pun offended...

Must say I like the banter on this thread, entertaining if nothing else.

I am also an exWFT hand that had the good or misfortune (depends on timeframe considered) of being released from the company. I was one of the business managers and suspect I should have walked the company line a bit more and not spoken my mind. Very hard to do this if you take your job seriously and actually are concerned about the individuals who work for your business unit(s). It was a fight every quarter to keep the hands I had employed when Houston would determine everyone had to cut regardless of what your P&L said for your group. That and fighting for inventory and for Houston to pay bills so we would not have suppliers cut us off made for a lot of unnecessary stress internal of the company.

I am lucky I suppose, joined an operator that has a proper view of how a business should be run and at least for the last year or so has led me to believe they do care about employees and work/life balance. This is not to say everything is rosy, we still have had layoffs and more are looming - however they are being addressed much better than WFT ever did.

Sitting on the other side of the desk now and talking with others inside my company and peers in others, the view of WFT and management is not good. Many simply hope that someone will pick up the pieces or at least the good hands that are still left as it is one area that is appreciated - yes there are s--- ups and they will be sorted out in the end as well.

Overall what I am telling you is those that are hoping WFT makes it are few and if they could have the hands they like at another company that number essentially goes to zero.

Good luck

wellll ex recalled slave im glad that you landed on your feet and found another job that you are wayyyy happier at. my question is why didn't you do this soooooner? im guessing that you always felt there was nepotism and other things you didnt like and one could speculate that maybe you felt deserving of something more but you never did anything more than just have a sense of entitlement just like you feel entitled to severance pay. it sounds like the only reason you stuck around was for greed of that severance pay & now you feeeel f'ed over once again. but maybe the problem is you and not weatherford or the bosssses or the s--- ups because its alot easier to blame others and have excuses than to look at how you were responsible. im thinking the only this outfit did wrong was not canning your @$$ when things were good for oil. also you may have heard that weatherford is broke and they cant even pay their bill so there is no money for severances and that not paying severences is a houston decision not some pee on managers so get over yourself and move on. and im smart enuf to not be so stupid to wait for a severance package so i will never have to be on a 59 day layooff cause i wood be looking for another job as soon as that there was any rumor of that. im also guessing that by spring you will be p-ss-d that the s--- ups are getting what you think you deserve. so pleassse get over it and stop being a d bag and maybe think how you were part of the problem cause you sound like a ef N teenager crying how everyone f's him over and how he deserves this and wants that but is cool coasting along. im sure you are a nice enough guy but get over yourself weatherford the s--- up & how you feel screwed over. let this sh-- go and move on.

Sorry to say bud but it seems like you are one of the s--- up still in delusion thinking you will still have a job... good luck with that and i hope you experience 59 day layoff and get jerked around not getting your severance pay and your own buddies that you may s--- up too will be expecting you to find another job and expect you to quit so they don’t have to pay you severance. I hope you stand in that shoe and feel what other have been through and were treated like. Then hopefully you understand others feeling. On other note you mentioned about lifting solutions, why on earth would i waste my other precious years with ex weatherford employees who have driven weatherford in ground by making stupid decisions to begin with. Maybe you could be stupid enough to join them bro. Ex recalled slave doesn’t pretain that i still work for weatherford. I found way better than what i was doing in weatherford.. company itself is ok but pee ons and there s--- ups are making it worse.. thats what i am getting to. I guarantee to that few supervisors are making top wage and doing nothing but robbing the company. If your one of them, then good luck.

i don’t know why you are complaining ex recalled slave because you got paid for your precious years and got a subsidized 59 day vacation soif you don’t like it then work somewhere else like lifting solutions but im guessing they don’t want you i guess it is easier to be a victim and blame someone else there may be more than one supervisor still working here but they won’t be both making supervisor pay and we are not dead slow were very busy so you better check your sources becausevthey are likely negative losers like you so give it a rest and get over Weatherford already
