AECOM is now in the process of eliminating the Power end of the company (what use to be URS and Washington Group Int.). Three major offices were hit with Voluntary Retirement Package and the next step is lay-offs. We cannot win a contract due to managements ineptness. AECOM was never interested in keeping the legacy company alive. All they wanted was the government contracts. I am still employed but I do not expect it to be by the end of the year. In the area I work in management is now hiding people who did not take the VRP but finding any place for them under any charge code to keep them employed. This deal ends up ripping off the client. Sad, sad place to work.

I'm in Illinois with the former URS power unit and the office is down to a skeleton staff for the past year or so and last month they stated forcing the remaining Engineers (and some admin. staff) into 60-90 days unpaid " Stand-by-leave". The letters say in anticipation of future work but in reality it does not look good. Like the OP said, they don't care about Power and all the contracts that URS had with Excelon and others went to somebody else. Not sure what is going on but for the people who were with WGINT and URS who have been there for many years It is sad to see it fall apart.
