Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Micromanage everyone to death.

The constant spreadsheets on every metric is supping the life of out of the support folks.

I spend 1/3 or my day filling in spreadsheets about every aspect of a service request.And now we have to report to coaches and SMEs who no longer take cases and instead micromanage other engineers.

This is the new EMC or DELL EMC whatever we are now.

The useless MBA's at Dell have no idea what solutions the market needs. They are solely dependent on the sales team to provide them input, All those stupid Indian in Round Rock campus are a total waste of time . Time to fire them all

well how else are the execs going to know how many of you do what and make decisions based on the data? what strikes to me as odd is why the f--- are you using excel to track. don't we have a system? Manager can put whatever the f--- number the want to report in one fake excel but numbers always tally if keyed into one system. Guess lying is their forte as usual.

It's not just in support either, it's company wide. Two things going on with all the metrics, gives the useless MBA managers a way to cover their a$$, proving they're doing the job, and it's an easy way to get rid of employees without having to pay severance. If you don't hit your metrics you get a PIP and then there's a reason to fire you for cause, management just has to make sure the requirements of the PIP are unrealistic and unreachable and you're out the door by the end of the quarter at zero cost to the company. Just goes to show how far things have deteriorated since the big EMC boondoggle.

Lots of MBA's at Dell. Useless id--ts feeding the Metric sheets with useless info and creating chaos. Metrics is way of life at Dell .
