Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Walmart Selling Sam’s Club

How likely is this scenario? Do you think Walmart is about to sell Sam’s Club? Also, if this pans out, do you anticipate major layoffs?

If yes, who may acquire us? And why?

Thoughts?

Wal-Mart just had there best quarter report earning in 9 years. If they have so little money why do they buy little known companies for so much money. Look at the purchase of jet.com. They haven't been in business very long for that sum. What's up?

They like to waste money. Someone is getting very rich.

Seems likely they , Walton’s have Zero interest in the Club business. Just cranking down and squeezing out dollars. When a company stops expanding for years shuts down Clubs on buildings and leased properties they still own. Shuts down new Clubs opened a year or so not even giving then a chance to mature it’s very obvious there is no future and the end is near!

Will be broken up for real estate locations to the highest bidders. Carved up sold off!

The problem would be finding a buyer.

Costco wouldn't touch Sam's with a stick and BJ's is likely too small to take on a larger company.

We have members opening new memberships just to get it at a cheaper price and the discounts. So really, the new members are just members not renewing but opening a new membership then they show up on the reports as expired members 😂🤣😅

Sams was started to serve the small businesses which they got away from. They have wooden pallets on the floor for people to shop off of but yet think there is not suppose to be a splinter on the floor. Wood pallets on the floor and wood pallets slotted above merchandise and expect the clubs to be as clean as regular retail outlets. Its not going to happen.

That has been talked about. It would make sense with HO focusing on new membership only. All offers only focus on new members that way it shows growth. Which all we are doing is recycling members. So there really is no new growth. Eaxample. Groupon or the value pack offer for membership.

Sam’s is not the future. There is no growth no new Clubs and the fact that they pulled out pretty much from Northest Operations

There is no longer a footprint left in a very competitive Market. Many Clubs continue to lose money. It’s pretty obvious where we are. The future is Wal Mart and e commerce.

As for who is interested depends on who would acquire the carcass. It would be mostly for real estate. You can bet your last dollar all the Marketing Regionals and most Club Personnel will be gone. No longer connected to Wal Marts apron strings no reason for this miserable company to soldier on.
