Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

T-rates

Most T- rates don't realize they wouldn't been hired under the old pay scale mostly due to lack of manufacturing experience, skill, pretest scores and how well they interviewed. HR and management realized this early on in the applications they were receiving. They knew they'd have to settle because the more experienced and qualified people wouldn't apply at the new pay scale. This gave some an opportunity they otherwise would've never had so be thankful for the experience you gained the money you made and hopefully it will help you gain future employment opportunities.

D rates got screwed in 2015 contract because T rates whined about percentage raises being unfair. That contract was had for T and D

So T-Rates would have never made it into GE as D-Rates "mostly due to lack of manufacturing experience, skill, pretest scores and how well they interviewed." That's funny!! Then explain how we have D-Rates with a G.E.D.?? They couldn't make it through high school but yet here they are manufacturing and machining our product. There was a time when GE wouldn't look at you unless you had a high school diploma. I know most of these jokers didn't have squat for experience but we took them anyways. The D-Rates that were hired within the last few years before the T-Rate was created, are no better. Those chumps just got lucky is all. The only decent D-Rates are either retired or will be soon. Those with 15 years or less are mostly worthless. Can't be trusted to train or work. I don't blame the T-Rates for being p-ss-d.

T & D rates alike will both be on the street once they announce the plant closure in Schenectady later this week. GE has too many options now with a light workload and empty Alstom facilities. It only makes sense to move operations somewhere else while the workload is light and they will have the time to get people trained to build generators. And obviously it will be a non-union shop.....even though Schenectady is basically non-union.

It's amazing what people tell themselves when they sell out the next generation of plant workers. Don't worry my T-rate union brother or sister, karma has something special planned for these people.

First to the poster your stupid, second some t rates were already making the same amount of money but came to General Degenerate for better healthcare and retirement. Should have known when the 2015 contract was all for those greedy d rates. And the dumb t rates who made $10-$13 an hour voted yes for a weak bonus that gets taxed. The union blows GE hard
