Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

Tates to go DSD this fall

3rd party tates rep said we are picking it up sometime in the late 3rd early 4th 1/4. I'm just passing along what I was told can't certainly disagree with the guy telling me but I bet you all can.

Why sell your fantasy short? Why not just say the entire mondelez product line is switching to dsd. Gum, chocolate, cough drops, oh, and don't forget the tang.

All of us will be replaced soon. In fact, as I'm typing this we are currently training monkey's in zoo's across the country to take over ordering and merchandising.

In the usa biscuit is 70-75% because MDLZ does not own the name Cadbury its chocolate business that's owned by Hershey. Its because of some deal in the 1980s that's why all the chocolate they push says milka. If you look a just the biscuit numbers we make almost the same margins with DSD vs areas without. Most growth in developing areas is from chocolate or new markets

Sales down where are you getting your numbers I'm up 10% over last year

And overall I believe biscuit is up 6% last 1/4 for the whole company

It's ok. Dirk's strategic plan will save DSD. Adding Tate's to our power brand lineup. Stay positive. You'll see in September. Things will stay status quo. No layoffs

Our stock price has dropped the last 4 days in a row. Haven't really watched but checked recently. With all our eggs in one basket in a declining junk food market there is going to have to be some major changes. Sooner than later.

Forget the fact that Kellogg been killing nabisco at retail you got both companies with dieing product lines especially nabisco how can you support huge overhead cost with declining brands your not going to nabisco will be done with dsd very soon can’t compete in a competitive environment the way Kellogg is set up now dsd is a liability to nabisco right now game over

by

Post ID: @3idi+UwgfVaJ

Nabisco sales are way down and will continue to go down nabisco not keeping dsd too expensive when Kellogg is cheaper and less overhead nabisco can’t compete. Nabisco is losing everyday their in dsd the volume doesn’t support the cost of dsd when the competition continues to out perform nabisco at retail game over soon

That how how they are different in North America biscuit is 70-75% of our business and for kelloggs is was 15-20% they had less of a risk when pulling out then we do

by

Post ID: @3jxa+UwgfVaJ

Last time I checked only 15-20% of kelloggs is comparable with our product say kelloggs is up is fine but there snacks are down.

I have more little wing stacks in my stores then kebler has displays I'm killing them out here I wasn't even counting little stuff when I said I had 5 displays for every 1 of theres, if you count the little things its easily 10 to 1, When is that phone person to get off his a-- and get stuff done in my stores? I mean I do see kebler product in some of my stores back room collecting dust sometimes I guess that phone person needs to actually go to a store to get it on the floor. Because my stores wont do it when they can just give me there space

Kellogg up about 50% in most area some places more Kellogg has a huge advantage in pricing and display with mandated display Kellogg been killing nabisco for months at retail just a matter of time before nabisco out of dsd can’t compete with Kellogg and that trend will only continue staying in dsd game over for nabisco

Fake news. Kelloggs snacks down 30% in some areas. Stores ordering less skews resisting new product lines. Not a big surprise for kelloggs. Nabisco waiting to see how Kelloggs rebounds from DSD exit with new distribution method as 1 year warehouse contracts are ending. It's all about payroll & union anyway. Elves laid off 15,000 saving 500 million. Now they will distribute similar to DSD without the overhead. Method to be revealed early Sept. Nabisco watching and waiting. No matter how big a fan you are of DSD, savings $ to much to ignore for Nabisco.

Kellogg gets more done by pen and phone everyday than nabisco does all day we’re getting killed on pricing , displays and mandated display you can have your little wing stacks the big volume is going right over your head big reason why is kellogg isn’t tied down to dsd anymore that why dsd is dead at nabisco you can’t compete game over

This persons is 100% an elf if you read the kelloggs side here I've seen this writing there before. Also every display matters example 1 clip strip that sells 1 case a week x 10 stores is an extra 520 cases for the year. Little stuff adds up and mandated displays are a joke. How many mandatory displays do you still have to sell in at stores level, that pen and paper guy might sell in a lot but if it sits in back room the next time he calls the old product he sold will still be in back room, I've seen stores send back kebler stuff

"More fake news by the nabisco cheerleader on here nabisco getting killed at retail by Kellogg and most of it by way of pen and phone who cares if you a got a couple wing stacks Kellogg got better pricing and mandated displays everywhere"

Pen and phone, just another one liner also who useing a pen and phone anymore?

And where is this pen and phone person in my area? Kebler has almost no displays I most at at a least a 5 to 1 ratio

Keebler is up 30% in Kroger for the year so far. Pen and phone are winning at Kroger.

If Keebler is killing it please explain? why your sales are down, your share of the category is down, your share of displays is down and Nabisco has been picking up shelf space in the majority of accounts since your exit from DSD. Based on Q2 results. By both companies Kellogg’ CEO said Keebler sales were down in North America over 2 percent on snack business and on the Mondelez report biscuit was up almost 6 percent vs prior year in qtr. just stating facts. Some people on this site should do the same.

Mondelez won’t mechandise! Retailers will take that over a save big $. The reason “that guy” said that is cause merchandisers will leave in droves. No, that incentive is not in play all the time. I have brought plenty of people on board.

As a fulltime order I can tell your I'm really not seeing that much of a difference any more except they get

A Car

401k

More PTO

2 hours of overtime a week

3x the bonus

Weekends off, grocery and store managers love to hear that when they are working every weekend I get more sold in on a Saturday then the rep can do during the week there is something to being in the truncheons with the managers

I have stores that the sales rep doesn't even go in every week they think I'm the sales rep and they are like a RMS or something.

DsD is ending at some point but my area that I'm in doesn't seem anywhere near it and kebler has struggled big time since there exit. From my understanding kebler is only doing well in the middle part of the usa where more then 60-70% of stores are Walmart or Kroger.

I think MDLZ isn't going to exit with a date but by region over the course of the next couple of years

Sounds logical but how much would they really save by cutting half the sales force?Probably not enough savings to keep the shareholders satisfied. Hopefully we'll get some clarity in September.

Post ID: @2cge+UwgfVaJ

The reason for more merchandisers is that full time order writers are doing about 90% of a sales rep job for about 1/3 of the cost, the in September is going to be them cutting about 1/3-1/2 the reps we have and replaceing them written orders withfull time orders writers and packing out with part timers.

The reason they one guy said anyone below an SR wont get a package is because there not going to be involved in the layoffs happening in September.

I'm with the one guy who said dsd is still 2-3 years out from exit but they will still save more money in the short term

why would we take on tates if DSD ending? They would leave it to the 3rd parties if DSD ends. Wouldn't warehousing kill it?

Everyone is reading too much into this $300 incentive. It has been around for a long time, I have gotten this twice in last couple years. They just don't advertise it so they don't have to pay it out. Obviously the company is experiencing higher turnover than normal, and possibly wanting to also build up merchandising support before the September announcement, whatever it may be.

Btw. I am in the camp that DSD is going away sooner than later. Don't think they will announce exit in September it probably more layoffs and structure change of some kind. I expect we have 2-3 years at most of DSD as we know it. 2020 is the year I've been hearing from multiple vendors that walmart wants us out
