Partial plant closing is going to be announced this week. Going to be up to 300 layoffs on the campus. Some areas will be 2 shifts, members that make it t will be forced on either 2nd or 1st shift. Lots of members will utilize their bumping rights. It’s going to cause chaos throughout the union.

The "Sleeper Slate" must all be sleeping, they all got real quiet all of a sudden...
Did McCormick change global demand for the power business?
99% of the posters on this blog ignore this fact. Sure GE has been
mismanaged and it's shameful, but the issue in Power is a lack or
orders, plain and simple.
FYI, the only thing the union cares about will be the roughly 160K they lose per year in union dues. But don't worry, they'll still have enough for their " vacations"!!!
Real number to the street is 205
Bumping is standard practice for the last 50 years.
Rumors of SFO getting hit hard are false.
They have all ready been told... s---s.. lots of good hard workers getting let go
Heard the same thing so much for this guys intel
206 will hit the street, most areas will see some reduction, 25 rate machinists getting hit hard. Announcement tomorrow.
so You took the same rumor that’s been going around for months and added the words “partial plant” closing. Good one
It's looking like all GE's are going to two shifts, even the "producing" Aviation plants. We call it bumping and grinding, because someone is gonna get screwed!
When is the announcement?
Going down to 450-500 blue collar easily. Any dumb a$ $ That comes back after their layoff comes back to this mess is not to bright. It was set up to fail when McCormick took over as plant manager now the closer is here.
Then the company will hammer the union with more harassment, and act we owe them. If management can do it better let them do our jobs. They did a good job running the place into the ground. The good ones left management engineers left with buttocks sniffers like bar shop cell leader. Setting the plant to fail! On purpose because they have new technologies on making bars.
