Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Still sinking.... can't wait for next quarter results

The old and rotten Oracle ship is on its way down. If you are still on board, you can hear the creaking of the timbers and the rats scurrying through the corridors.

The crew is mostly gone or jumping ship, while the clueless rats spend their time chewing through the timbers to collapse the layer above them, thinking they can kill off some of the other rats and keep themselves alive a bit longer. Little do they know, they are slowly destroying the entire ship as they work. Their brain capacity can't comprehend anything but themselves and their immediate needs.

Packs of sociopathic rats wander throughout the ship attacking able-bodied crewmen in an attempt to chase them overboard and prolong their own pathetic existence. HR wanna-be-lawyers follow the rat packs around placating them with bits of moldy cheese, hoping they won't turn on them.

Fear is everywhere. Uncertainty around every dark corner.

So, what the hell are you still doing here? Update your skills and get out. Let the rats drown with the ship.

The lawsuit mentioned in the other thread makes the earnings call especially interesting - may almost force analysts to ask questions such as: are oracle’s cloud revenues real?

Let’s see, have they now reached a point where they need to officially declare a major restructuring, write offs and totally restate the p&l, or does that come the following quartet? Can’t be far off at this rate

Unless I am missing something, the only reason why the stock price has recovered from Oracle's last quarterly earnings is through buybacks. During Q1 fy18, they spent $500M, Q2 $2B, Q3 $4B and Q4 fy18 $5B. Based on my analysis, I believe they will report in the range of $6-8 Billion during Q1 fy19. The rise in the stock price possibly gave LE the ability and time to renegotiate his billions in personal debt collateralized by his stock position.

Another change in how oracle reports revenues coming down the pike. Just obscure everything, who cares about revenues, just report EPS and keep spending oracle cash to buy ever increasing number of shares to make it go up. LOL!

I can't wait to see how the execs try to spin on the earnings call. The analysts (even the bad ones) are starting to wise up.

Of course the ERP team has a tremendous up hill renewal battle considering most of their contracts are labeled DOA/No Planned Adoption.

My SaaS ERP team won’t be making their numbers this quarter. Both net new and renewals. Other teams having similar reports.
