On thursday (Aug 9), there is an announcement of hike given to Bangalore employees. It is 5% to 15% on average. Also some more hirings are being done here to offset SJ and RTP layoffs. All is good. Many Grade 10 and 11 will be promoted to 12. Already lower grade have been given promotions earlier if it was applicable.

Instead a couple of people who are malingering and doing unrelated “visibility” and “transformation” work were held up as shining exemplars to follow along with a note to build bridges with new mgmt chain none of whom have bothered so far to come down and meet us.

Had 1x1 with the leadership member today morning; October 5th is my last day at Cisco, BLR. Spend 8 years here, of which last 4 was spent in checking if the job is still there. The product was making money but cannot compete the Softwares, made by Google , Amazon and VMWare, in the next 3 years. Most of our marketing guys have joined the startups or these companies. 25% cut is there in this product, with performance not any criteria. None of the managers and directors above grade 12 are impacted. They want to create space for new acquisitions.

In some products, the letters and grades are declared in Bangalore. In general it is very good percentage. By thursday it should be closed.
