Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

TK Steps Down, HD to step in to TK's role temporaily

Heard from a SVP in NA that HD has been lobbying to take TK's role during the transition. HD has tried to convince LE that TK was out of touch with the field and he can invigorate development with a 'voice of the field' is how this SVP described it. HD has contiually stabbed at TK saying that if there were better products, his Hub model could be accelerated. Of course HD has only positioned this as temporary, but I think we all know he will not be satisfied with that

HD's massive flaw is that he tolerates less-than-stellar performance. He is slow to see the weakness or ineffectiveness of people that look the part and say the right things, but actually do very little. Most of these people came up with him 'through the OEA ranks'. He bleeds Oracle red -- it is the company that made him. At the same time, he is unable or unwilling to shephard a new culture -- because in effect he'd be destroying the institutions that nurtured his career success. So, we're left with old wine in a new bottle (aka, ECAL executed by junior resources based in hubs -- supporting a product that doesn't work).

It's easier to hire fresh meat who don't know they are selling c r a p. Not only do they work for less, but they have no idea why customers are telling them to go the F away and to never call them again.

Too much politics and fingre pointing in Oracle at every level. Need to fire people with big titles and replace them with people with new thinking. Leadership has to be renewed at every level.

Yes, yes, yes!

It's the management that needs to be cleaned up and cleared out!

It’s end of the road for Oracle because decisions they have been taking from last 15 years. They are behind in everything except Db. Leadership of Oracle never believed in current technology trends. They are late in every field, they do not know how to invent. The problem is that leadership is old and not equipped with latest trend. They should forget about going against AWS but think how to make more many using Apps as no one in the industry have them.

Yes, when products are behind best to rely on college grads who struggle with the most basic activities. Excellent path to competing in this hypee competitive, short window marketshare grab for cloud. HD, napolean bonaparte he is not

You can't dispute the fact that products under TK weren't very good.

HD is definitely a yes man. Zero understanding of reality in the field. Paid on margin, manages to that instead of growth. Hard to grow with zero experience hubsters selling against seasoned vets at amazon and google (many that fled this dumpster fire). What do you do when an experiment fails? Say it is working and triple down.

Dumpster fire

I'm in HD's org - not really impressed with his leadership but maybe I'm so far down the reporting line I don't see the genius from here. Last I heard he was busy pissing on us for not bringing in the cloud revenue. And seems like there's a push to have hubs with recent grad's do the cloud deals. Cause if it works for MH on the sales side must work for us too. If I sell $100 and it costs $80 I'm only making $20 of profit....now wait for the genius here....what if it only costs me $10 to sell that $100??? BOOM!

lets hope it's not CR again, he's been in every exec role at orcl at least once and used to be head of dev

looney tune like the rest of them

I heard rumors that someone from the support side may be stepping in. Anyone know who that could be?

The next acting head of dev will be an acting one until he proofs his

worth or until another one who at the employee summit could take over

Why not LJE stepping back in, he runs it all anyway or maybe no one has to replace him. TK has a bunch of senior people that can keep the c-appy cloud boat floating until the street figures out it's all an illusion.

If you worked for Oracle or used too, then you know who HD is. If you don’t know then use ARIA to figure it out.

I don’t see HD getting the role. He’s too unqualified. I also think he’s a terrible manager. He’s just a Yes man to RG and MH.

HD is NOT taking TKs place, and is the furthest thing possible from a "power hungry empire builder" and "mega maniac micromanager". He goes into battle with his people, is fair but firm, and is somebody I would bet my career on. But the rumor that he is taking Tks place is 100% false.

I heard the following. LE told TK that he wanted to move the cloud org (Don Johnson) out from under TK. TK refused and therefore resigned. Good riddance

Word in the halls is TK will “retire” sometime in this fiscal year. A coworker said TK alludes to this being true in a leadership summit meeting he held earlier this summer.

HD is part is MH orgs and he heads enterprise cloud architect team. Not a guy to lead product devp. Som one from the recent acquisitions is likely to head product dev.

He's a power hungry empire builder. Everything he does is out of his own self-interests. He is one of the people behind the new hub model. He's nothing more than a Yes man that manages up well. People underneath him cannot stand him.
