There is nothing in the announcement on SHC that indicates anything different than any other Q. I assume it's going to be bad. As usual. Maybe some more store closings announced in a few weeks will be next.
Correct me if I am wrong but I don't think of bankruptcy announcements as being "after the dismal 2nd Q, SHC has declared bankruptcy ..." during a quarterly results call. I think of them as separate announcements made at whatever time of year.
Interesting the Sears careers website has a spiffy new look for its seasonal hiring section and some upcoming national hiring days. There are a few thousand seasonal jobs listed with major needs highlighted at the top of the page. SO there's that.
Of course the careers website is wonky and you see different pages with different jobs depending on how you enter the site.
There was a lot of talk of Sears being out of money. Who know we will find out Thursday.
Sears has not done a live earnings call in several years, this is standard practice for them. No other legitimate company does this. Just saying. They can't stand the pressure of actual questions they can't answer.
Not this week. We don't have the signs for the biggest discounts yet. Also, the points promotion that stretches the points out until January. BK is very likely coming. Just not this week.
How many of you think Sears will file BK this week?
Everybody just thinking doomsday is upon us. All are worrying for nothing. Its all going to be fine.
@V6hnDTp-tuc get your head out of your a$$
I think that it's very suspicious that the Q2 2018 Financial Reports are going to be released on the same day that a major hurricane is hitting on the east coast!!
A prerecorded call is not extremely rare. There are two times you are more likely to do this with a prerecording. 1. The company doesn't have anything particularly interesting to report and everything is pretty stable and consistent so no reason to do anything live. So you just record the info and present it to the world 2. There is nothing good to report at all...things are bad so you record something ahead of time and just throw it out there. No reason to try and present it live if you're worried the person doing it live might collapse under pressure of the bad announcement.
Now that's all guess for which of these two reasons SHLD might be making the announcement by prerecording....hmmmm
According to the article, they're going to post a pre-recorded conference call with investors. Meaning the call won't be live. That's strange.
Even that article has a vibe that things are not going to be well at all.
It’s going to be a mess. Friday should be interesting.
This earnings report is going to be like a warm blanket covering us. Its going to be so enjoyable
