RE-Org & LR?

I'm hearing a reorg and LR are scheduled to happen before the holiday season. Anyone know anything about this? Not sure of what bus will be hit

Previous comment is the true BS. I am RB in CX and yes I have been told my contract ends on 12/21. They were not supposed to tell me until the day of but my company went ahead anyway so I could start looking. ALL contractors in my group are being let go.

Previous comment is BS. Red badges cost less and will be spared this round.

I heard the new CX lady doesn’t like or want any red badges and that most will be gone on 10/26 - even those who are key developers. Blue badge lay-off supposedly on the 5th. Meanwhile, hiring outside CA and US like there will be a human being shortage. They could easily give those being let go a chance but reqs are being hidden or closed to prevent applying. Fear of LRs is constant and just part of the job. Personally hoping for a package.

I can tell you that the layoff is coming in November and it will impact those that are in CX. I can also tell you that comment about women and minorities not being impacted is totally incorrect.

Women and minorities unaffected. White, old , not so lucky.

To the O.P.

I have been following this board after I got laid off from Cisco 3 years ago. I also keep in close contact with my former co-workers who are still at Cisco.

I am stating the obvious that there will never be a shortage of layoff rumors at Cisco.

Given that I have seen really really outstanding people laid off when the whole team gets whacked, you just never know when it will happen to you. It may never and it may happen tomorrow. It is almost the luck of the draw. This is an inescapable fact when working at Cisco.

Keep your skills up to date any way you can, up to and including taking a lower grade job in the TAC if you must. That is what I did and when the ax fell I was out of a job for two weeks. Follow the Malcolm X approach "By whatever means necessary"

My own experience is that AS is nothing but a report delivery team (eox report) with L4 support to customer jacked with a PM function. . customer purchase AS service like a supplemental business insurance. Deal is sold tighter with the hardware and service together..

My own past customer barely see the AS NCE at all, mostly once a year.. the real work are carried out by SE s on site (system engineer). SE take the burden of the organization while AS engineer sit at office and put their feet high and send EOX report to customer..or their outsourced partner.

nowadays with outsourcing, AS has become a 2nd rate org, can not compete with partners who is grilled day in and out at customer site..

2) CMS was a dead horse since it was acquired, coupled with antique vpn technologies, expensive unique small elite networking management vendor, expensive splunk where results is always a maybe, while only maintain a single customer as its base, THE architect there don't understand cloud and don't want to learn, find all kinds of excuse for staying behind and stick to the old technologies, and end of support hardware/software dating back to NetSolve time.

Netsolve-> CMS business model is never fit for Cisco in 1st place.

past top/current executive and circle of friends dine/wine on CMS $ while cut L1/L2 and other hardworking personal. we noticed all these executive rotates in from a different division and stay only 2 years, while bring in their offspring from other org.

cut the cord and move completely to partner delivered model.

CX will take a 30% haircut. Mostly the AS and some CMS groups.

Clean up your laptop, box up your personal items. Print screen any important HR and payroll information now as there's no guarantee you'll have access once the LR occurs. Make a clean getaway once you receive your walking papers. Should take you no more than 15 minutes to clear out.

It could align with earning call. Check your IPF , if it’s in the range of 0.5-0.8 then be prepared for the package
