Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

Inclusion

The company literally has a campaign- complete with posters and name tags- that say “be here now”. perhaps the writing has always been on the wall.

David Craig is as much a laughable CEO as he is effective.

A company that’s more concerned with “inclusion” than results will always fail. But hey- at least they have the much needed “inclusion index”! You’ve not “included” yourself into a another lay-off. Heard they’re going to clear out St Louis and Minnesota. Some nice people there- good luck everyone.

If a captain runs his ship aground, he is typically not asked to lead the next big sailing expedition. Apparently that's not the case here.

Funny I never read this sort of comments on the hub. And no, it's not like there are no comments-on the contrary,a lot of them. But all praise how good the stuff was.

My mood elevator is stuck on the ground floor. At least it's easier to leave the building that way.

“Personally I don't see how the same team that has failed to deliver is going to change. We have underinvested for so long that change will be slow. I expect the employee base lacks motivation. That will also take time to heal.”

Underinvestment , I saw that a lot.

If TR had a golden goose that layed Golden eggs twice a day, TR would keep patching up the 20 year old fence until one day it blew over and the goose ran away.

Inclusion has actually caused more divisions.

More than that, a lot of other nonsense have sprung from these "brilliant" minds, to the point that people do less of what they're actually paid to do--all because they're involved in some other c-ap that either has got nothing to do with what they do, or is something that should already be innate.

Far too many irrelevant "human" courses, most of which taught by enjoy nothing more than hearing themselves talk.

I agree about Culture and Values, total waste of time. It left me with a serious headache.

The most concerning thing for is that majority of the people there actually believed in those brainwashing sessions.

For now, company needs continuity which is why we see the same leadership team. Step 1 is achieve cost reductions. Any management team can do that. Between now and end of Q1'19 expect more organizational changes as they never get it right with mass layoffs. Thereafter, expect to see the leadership team members replaced when they fail to deliver.

Personally I don't see how the same team that has failed to deliver is going to change. We have underinvested for so long that change will be slow. I expect the employee base lacks motivation. That will also take time to heal.

New leadership that has a vision is needed. Leadership that empowers employees to take initiative and be rewarded. Leadership that doesn't put up with political bureaucrats is needed.

I do agree that we as a company have wonderful assets and potential.

Ah the Values and Culture or whatever it was called happy clapping course.

2 days of my life I will not get back.

Playing a puzzle to learn about cooperation ...sigh !

The only real content were concepts I had read about 10 years prior.
