Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

Four Reasons Not to Join Thomson Reuters

Three reasons not avoid getting a job with TR:

  • Outsourcing of technology jobs to Tech Mahindra.

  • Frequent layoffs

  • F&R revenues not growing

  • Constant cost cutting

This applies to tech candidates, not sure how things are on the business side, I'll leave that rant for someone else to complete.

A Thomson family staple is their thriftiness. Their approach to getting a company profitable is to cut costs. That's been going on now at F&R for ten years with the obvious results.

“Underfunding”

Well any spare cash went into share buy backs. It’s like saying I have a billion and don’t see any point in investing into a lost cause aka TR , so stick it in the bank instead (share buy back).

It shows a lack of faith in your own company.

Have to agree, I've told my kids never to work for a company like TR. Stay with winners, avoid the losers. The problem starts with Woodbridge board and its' chairman, DT, the family conflict, the leadership they put in to run the company and the handcuffs put on them. Puppet management, broken organization, constant turnover, underfunding, repeated layoffs, etc..
