Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

More with less!

I was made redundant in 2016, after nearly 18years service. In the the three years prior to that my immediate team was reduced by 60% with the work load not changing ( in fact increasing due to platform renewals and MifID 2)

Yes phrases like ‘more with less’ and ‘be more agile’ were used, but mainly by people who contributed very little and produced even less. Reuters used to be great place to work.

This was posted on a different thread (@VFBW83c-ull ). Sad to say that this has become a classical way of dealing with the workers. Guess we’ll be hearing a lot of these “motivational” phrases soon, that is if we make it throw this round of cuts.

We had the "you have to step it up now guys" speach last week. Really motivational after they fired 2 layer of managers and have no plan on how to organise the remaining team...
