Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

OCIC Layoffs

I heard that the layoff starts after OOW at the start of November. 500+ on the chopping block, most from OCIC

Oracle no longer cares about OCIC customers. Sure, they will get burned really bad. But since when has Oracle hesitated to abandon customers when we lose interest in something?

I don't get how we can close a DC and prevent customers from accessing data they uploaded to the cloud, ask them to re-upload?!

no one will deal with migration. in fact as you know it is IMPOSSIBLE to migrate from OCI-C to OCI.

OCI dc's will be closed (well.... actually already being closed as we speak) and the few customers really running on that will be simply moved to OCI (i.e. start completely new service, not a migration)

the few people remaining in the OCI-C team are there to deal with the closing of the dc's, and then they will be let go.

Does this include the core OCIC group (compute/storage/networking)?
