Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Some info on how the store liquidation process happens

The key to whether your store's liquidation is pleasant or unpleasant depends on the liquidator in charge. The liquidator who was in charge at our store was a very personable gentleman who made the process as pleasant as possible. However, according to some on this board, their liquidators were absolute jerks. At our store they kept all the associates on, brought some associates in from another Sears store in the area, and hired a few extra for the liquidation. Everyone performed their same job duties, however, with some minor changes. You will be extremely busy! Even though liquidation sale pricing is not that great, people will still flock in to buy. When your store's liquidation comes to an end, there will be a small group of associates kept on to do a final cleanup and to ship out select store equipment.

A great post that I found buried on another thread @VIUYDsD-cic . Thought many of you would find it useful, as it describes how the liquidation process in a store takes place and points out what can we expect during liquidation.
