A lot of Engineering ARASA supervisors are getting a free promotion to a Manager 2 out of the reorganization. So they laid off engineering managers while they simultaneously offered manager positions to ARASA's no question asked.

I accepted the manager position from supervisor. I feel like I sold my soul to the devil. Insurance is going to s---.
What a mess!
They aren't wrong. I had 9 ARASA supervisors who used to report to me. Some were let go, some were promoted to Managers. It was directors and above who made the decisions on who stayed and who was let go. The ARASAs who were let go went back to the ranks.
Its all preparation for the next round. Easier to fire when they are managers.
I posted this originally but several of my counterparts got a promotion and I didn't.
