Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

They wouldn't send VC Managers to Home Office that's too many people. The Market Managers would speak to them directly. Probably already have in some stores.

Has anyone herd anything about vision center managers being told to get ready for a meeting at company headquarters? I heard it was only in certain parts.

Why hasn't Walmart mentioned any of this by now?

No more Walmart optical labs. They will use a 3rd party lab that operates in China.

Oh...we got that a few months ago.

The announcement was that a new VP was appointed.

What exactly did he announce? All I saw was the labs are messed up and we will have it fixed by 11/1...that tells me nothing about the huge and exciting changes that have been coming for months now...

I’m Sams club. But I assume the same c-ap is going on at Walmart. They are shutting down Walmart optical labs and using china labs to compete with zenni. Good luck. Even with the new prices we are nowhere near zenni.

In response to 4bbl you are spot on! We are told information communicate it to our loyal members and look like mo--ns when the information we’ve been told ends up being a lie. Example, ok we will have rimless glasses next week. We tell the members, turns into a month. When we get the go ahead we call all of them to order. They do, then we have to refund because oops. We “the lovely china lab” are not ready. This is just one example. The members are not stupid. They notice that our new exciting products aka “Oceano” sunglasses, are just the “pure z” with a changed name. It’s embarrassing when they call us out on it.

The rumors would stop if the powers that be would tell us what the changes are already! For over 6 months we keep getting told that big exciting changes are coming. They're going to be huge and amazing...yet we never get any specifics. Everything we hardly works, no communication, and the labs are a mess. But...we keep getting told great things are heading our way!

This is a complete hoax! Wal-Mart VC isn’t going anywhere. Stop with the rumors!

Not trying to scare anyone but it's only a matter of time. I would at least start looking outside of WM so you have a plan.

Nobody is being honest. This is all speculation. I’m sure we won’t know if it’s going to happen until it happens. Something suspicious is going on though. It’s not business as usual.

To the last comment, horrible transition is an understatement. I went from loving my job to “what kind of bs will I have to deal with today”! I’m at Sam’s. If this is not true, then whoever is in charge of the change transition needs to be fired because it’s a sh## show for sure!

I believe it, WM & Sams have been using NVI for a while for Contacts. Sams is having a horrible transition to a new system which is most likely a test for WM. The are changing item numbers and all stock, sending same items under new names.
