Is it true that major layoff is coming in Nov? If so where is it getting impacted?

Also, another trend is to change VPs every 2 years - I say, let them be. If you bring a senior leader with conviction then let them tide the wave, handle ups and downs - you cant keep changing them every year or two and then let them have global tours, meet & greet, with their directs blowing company money and bringing the stock down. If operating margins are low, look at the cost to the company when a leadership changes happen.
I feel bad for the EVP, SVP, VPs now - they know they have 12 months and then they are on PIP :-)
Change is not good ... especially Leadership changes... And it is not exciting at all, as they all keep repeating like parrots!
Culture has definitely changed! Leaders wait days and hire like minded people who will not challenge them... In India we need to deal with endless Traffic, pollution, corruption and now a corporation which has all these elements stuck into it.
Canada!
CCBU seems to be totally falling apart. Things have been moving to India so doesn't seem like any need for premise Dev team in BXB location. Also new management is making lots of changes. From what I've heard (and seen), a director is on the list and multiple managers as well. If you're engineer, you should be ok. I've also heard that all premise will move to India while people of premise in US will move to cloud.
This is Cisco's way of Thanks Giving.
You gotta be kidding if you think there will be only 3 layoffs in sp bu :)
A typical group size is 10 ppl.
30% are 3 ppl.
That's nothing for a BU of more than 1000 ppl.
@VPA57q4-3gth: SP BU
@VPA57q4-3qci - if you dont mind saying, which BU are you in ?
30% is not a LR "limited" , its a m---acre.
I have been unofficially told that my position will be eliminated along multiple other folks in my group. About 30% impact.
"A bunch of them do no real work but hide under various timepass initiatives like quality and process improvement guru" - Very aptly said...!!
Some of the so called " initiatives " are so bizarre that it makes us wonder whether we are working for an MNC IT company or a public sector..!!
Only those people in the 'licking each others xxxx" network seem to be safe in this company or atleast that is the impression at the employee level.
Only politically covered seniors are safe in the new cisco not those who refrain from playing games and just want to do real work
A bunch of them do no real work but hide under various timepass initiatives like quality and process improvement guru — this while code quality and solution stability is c-ap due to undisciplined proto demo mode work by the anointed gods
Bgl managers are anyway non technical and lack stature to speak up for their teams infront of sjc overlords.
Senior folks/high earners they want to cut have already been given low ipf taking advantage of opaque manager director gossip based review
The stage is all set now
I heard Managers are being asked to cut around 15% consisting of the low performers and senior folks / high earners.
Almost every group in bgl but those struggling for revenue more so and even that might not save costly seniors unless you are friends with the director gang
what about Bangalore? which groups?
my group of around 70 souls in routing will be 10% cut.
from the names I know, seniors who have been >= 10 years in cisco , higher grades are in the list.
