That's because Oracle ISN'T a cloud player. Tick tock.
Notice he only says the goal is to beat Amazon in cloud database. Guess IaaS and PaaS are "nevermind"? Well, IBM just bought Red Hat. NYT did not even mention Oracle as a cloud player.

hahahahahahaha
Oracle isn't even an afterthought in circles discussing cloud. It's AWS, Google, IBM, and Microsoft. Oracle will continue to hemorrhage people and products until they're purchased for pennies on the dollar. Poor leadership.
Get this senile goof off the stage!
"We didn't get our database to the cloud fast enough" . So now he's extremely narrowed down ORCL's cloud focus to just DBaaS? If so, they don't need those PaaS and IaaS development groups anymore.
