to Post ID: @VT1whrW-6Bxnp. That's a lot of lay offs. Wow. This is the first lay off that I didn't hear about in our service center. I was in 3 days. We have other depts besides WC Claims so I am wondering where all these RIF's occurred. I have asked my counterparts throughout the country and they aren't aware of the RIF's. So they must have occurred in a different line of business. I am in WC Claims.
I have heard there are more to come in 2020.

Around 250 people got laid off on Dec/11/2019 - Wednesday. Tariq let go the entire Governance team...Still AIG is top heavy, having tons of 23, 24 & 25+. Make it lean top for AIG to survive. People who does the work are in 19, 20, 21 & 22. As per the note from risk modeling group, YOY premiums are going south. More lay-off are in the horizons........Start looking for greener pastures......

Funny. When they say Giving Back, they mean employees give back and making the fat head execs look good.

Ask the managers how much of a hit to their comp they took last year. None is the correct answer.

Agree Post ID: @VT1whrW-3Jcde. One of AIG's big initiatives is "Giving Back". Why don't they practice what they preach and give back some of the things such as benefits that the took away from their employees. If they did that BD and all of Senior Management and Management that get the LTI's may have to be leaders like others in the industry. Giving back starts here.

2 months back 55 employees were let go by newbies in Houston.

The sad truth is that they are just hiring executives and spending money on their trips while reducing the workforce and incentives to hardworking employees.

If you're not in the circle you're out. Gone are the days that they value their employees who helped rebuild the company during the recession 2008.

The employees at AIG are always the last to know what is going on. We find out from news, brokers and our Insured's. Very poor communication from those that run the company, management to the actual work force. Everything is always a secret.

Saw it on the internet that AIG Headquarters 175 Water Street in lower Manhattan is up for sale for 275 million dollars and they have said nothing to the employees. What does that say for jobs in New York.

Mid level management & secret closed door meetings

For several weeks now multiple managers have been meeting with AVP behind closed doors nothing is ever mentioned about these meetings and what’s being discussed seems to be very ‘out of the ordinary’ not common place at all many in KC SS believe something is afoot & imminent to take place KC SS fka Olathe CPC management seems aloof and distancing themselves from working stiffs word is WC is under the gun there is little interaction between management & worker bees everything is out of kilter would appreciate any feedback from anyone who might know anything concerning layoffs for Olathe claims

The executive management of the engineering loss control help wreck it. They made sure they got a big bite of the pie while crashing it into the ground.

The Risk Engineering department has too many staff and very little work. The rumor has it a major lay-off is planned mid summer. The current situation of no work and inefficiencies is not sustainable. If a layoff occurs this would be one of many since last year. AIG is trying to get off of 30% of their accounts that are not profitable. Too bad I enjoyed the clients and staff that I spent time with while at AIG.

Everything about AIG is disturbing mid level managers hardly ever speak to you & walk right past you you are a nobody here in KC SS it’s pervasive and the ones older are in some sense stuck in between a rock & a hard place leave for what they don’t want to hire you after you hit a certain age so you hang on over worked under paid & definitely under appreciated this Co or organization (unorganized chaos) will reap the karma it is so successfully sown they have cut into WC so all bets are off now how much longer until this lob is moved overseas Manila KL it’s at best a c-ap shoot by now - anyone want to hazard a guess what’s in the offing & when will major cuts come to shared services kc

You will be seeing many jobs leave the New York City area this year. It is to expensive to do business in New York and they are looking to cut costs big time. It's already happening but most people will not be asked to relocate to another place.

What department and which states were they asked to relocate to? All the best to them, btw.

If anyone working for AIG thinks their job is safe they are crazy. Job cuts will be a constant happening for this company for obvious reasons. How much longer does Brian have to turn the ship around ? They have not turned a constant profit for such a long time now. Constant management shakeups and horrible morale with a large majority of the company's employees is not good. You can't keep giving excuses to the shareholders every loosing quarter.

Regarding more layoffs, if you have doubts and management won't confirm anything, I would assume the worst given it IS AIG. IT has taken huge hits in past 6 months, and I wouldn't expect the business side to escape unscathed, either. Glad to see they can now afford their own private jets, though.

So many people tout how great AIG was "in the day" - I'm sorry, I don't see it. Riding high it seems so wonderful and yet they failed and needed a government bail out...okay, I've heard all the arguments - it was just a small group bla bla bla...whatever! It tanked. They constantly have layoffs and lie to the employees about what is going on..shattering so many folks and their careers. Whats the difference between this and ENRON and all the other big corporate failures on wall street. Nothing. Who suffers - the worker bee. Period. AND to outsource everything all the while looking like the good Samaritan (hacking bad reviews from glassdoor for one). Beware of smiling faces. Wall Street Hacks with millions - I crack up every time I read that BD received 20+ million in 2018 down from the 43 million he got his first year. So what!!! - spin spin spin - to make him sound like a good Samaritan..they should have never paid him 43million - but lets layoff, outsource, and sell.

AIG was a great company. The have cut the most experienced people and replaced them with low cost help. Upper management is now and will always be looking to cut costs. They have outsourced almost everything you can possibly think of and are now looking to decrease or eliminate their presence in the high cost New York area. So then what is next after that.

I don't even care if I get laid off. I have relevant skills in other areas. Unfortunately for middle management and their lazy ways, I doubt any of them put in any effort to learn new things to stay relevant. Most of operations runs like we're still living in the year 1999...thinking pointless repetitive tasks will keep their talent engaged.

I'm wondering if the Utilization Review Dept for Workcomp is gonna get laid off?We have had very little work since end of 2018 and management here is very obvious trying to push people out the door. I cannot believe the lies and corruption that goes on here!

exactly the same script as Olathe move or be rifd salary cut no relocation package and the present at the end is once you got there after you uprooted your life you were laid off in a year or so

The next fun will be when they tell most in NJ and NY to either move to Charlotte or Houston or be riffed. By the way, no relocation package, and your paycheck will not be NY level, but Charlotte level.

Except the senior leadership of course. They are safe, so dont worry too much about them.....

the scary part is eventually we will show a profit because the greedy execs will just keep slashing and torturing until they show a profit. They will not be slashing any of their goodies but once you slash to get profitability but you have nothing left except c-appy products and an unmotivated skeleton staff what do you do. where do you go from there? Bail bailout sell run Crash and Burn

Let's see how AIG does in the next quarterly earnings report. They have laid off thousands of people, cut out profitable insurance programs and now they have a bare boned staff. If they don't turn a decent profit what excuses will they give this time. They are running out of excuses and the CEO is also running out of time Produce or get out. 56

Having a Big Data Governance team and paying them big fat paycheck and team is doing nothing.. No output from them..... Tons of 23, 24 & 25, just drawing QTR mill without governing the data..... Trim them off and re-direct the funds in the Policy Admin & Claim Processing to improve the operational Efficiency....Having unnecessary tools and paying Millions.....

March layoff was brutal in IT. And yet many of the favorites were promoted when they got the STI. Some even got a double promotion. And it is all hush-hush. So much for cost cutting...

Post ID: @2pgwh+VT1whrW

I’ve heard March was brutal for IT staff and June will also be terrible, especially if you’re not Indian, like the global CIO who favors them (his friends and neighbors) or the other CIO of North America, who kicked out all the experienced staff and replaced them with his long term friends and team from other companies. One or two trusted advisors is understandable, but these guys are out of control!

Who amongst us doesn’t get it

Anyone who knows anything about AIG knows the walls are coming down the carnage the wanton abuse & destruction of peoples hard work dedication & endeavors at AIG are being decimated dismantled it’s plastered all over this site furthermore anyone who knows anything and has even half a wit understands the hideous manner AIG is carrying out RIF after RIF the complete ruination of what once was a blue chip organization now standing in total dysfunction & disarray witnessed by the entire insurance world being seen 1st hand by those who are still giving it there best shot within AIG the world should know by now that Goliath is gasping for breathe & the walls of Jericho are most certainly crumblin down

"Crumblin' Down"

Some people ain't no damn good

You can't trust 'em

You can't love em

No good deed goes unpunished

And I don't mind being their whipping boy

I've had that pleasure

For years and years

No, no I never was a sinner

Tell me what else can I do

Second best is what you get

'Til you learn to bend the rules

Time respects no person

And when you lift up must fall

They're waiting outside

To claim my crumblin' walls

Saw my picture in the paper

Read the news around my face

And now some people

Don't want to treat me the same

When the walls

Come tumblin' down

When the walls

Come crumblin', crumblin'

When the walls

Come tumblin', tumblin'

Down

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Yeah, yeah, yeah

Some people say I'm obnoxious and lazy

That I'm uneducated

And my opinipn means nothin'

But I know I'm a real good dancer

Don't need to look over my shoulder

To see what I'm after

Everybody's got their problems

Ain't no new news here

I'm the same old trouble

You've been having for years

Don't confuse the problem

With the issue, girl

It's perfectly clear

Just a human desire

To have you come near

Want to put my arms around you

Feel your breath in my ear

You can bend me

You can break me

But you better stand clear

When the walls

Come tumblin' down

When the walls

Come crumblin', crumblin'

When the walls

Come tumblin', tumblin'

Crumblin', tumblin'

Down

I hope all the folks cut get better roles and with a company whose culture cares about their people. AIG isn't alone in screwing over their FTEs so senior managers hit cost cutting targets so they get their golden parachutes. Several senior folks have this language in their contracts. If Brian doesn't seem to care about the rest of us, it is because he doesn't, hence the comment if you don't like what's going on, leave.
